hi
i wrote step 1 on may 4th, recived result on may 25. i'm very depressed this was my second attempt and i got such low score. i was expecting more. i got 470 in nbme form 3 ten days before exam and UW score was 60%. my exam went well. i'm an old grad(2000) and i have two young kids and with them i tried very hard to get good scores. i think i'm the only one who got score less than nbme.  i really need help to come out of this depression.

hi ummah well congratulation for passing usmle step 1 81% , u dont have to be depressed by this score there are many IMG who got into intermed and famiypractice residency with 75s and 80 s in usmle and if u do well in step 2 then ,i dont think there is any need to worry .leave back the depression just be thank ful to god and go for step2 with full motivation.good luck and god bless.

Ummah , dear do not neglect the fact that you PASSED. A big congrats to you !!!! 
I know how hard it is to study with kids. Your decision to go for this test with the responsibilites of a family is a commendable job , let aside actually taking this test and passing it . You should be proud of yourself and I mean it .
Keep up the good work and good luck for step2.

Congrats ........... Exam is not a true test of knowledge.........my father's saying...Good docs cannot be judged by marks. When you apply for residency they will look as a whole person not just your scores. Thank God and move on in life

congrats for passing the exam...i feel that...step1 score is only one of the factors that will decide your residency...there are many.... like recos...so dont worry ...a friend of mine got 79 and is in residency now..

come on man do not cry. study for the step 2. U can get into the residency. I know someone who just enetred with 75 , 75 in both steps. so relax. no more depression. control your GABA

hey congratulations u've cleared and that too with two kids...i think thats a mean feat in itself.....just go on and give yur best in step two ...i'm sure everything will work out fine

thanks alot guys. i feel much better now. i know that our ultimate goal is to get resedency. i was depressed coz i thought i got 470 in nbme so i might get higher 80s. i was keep following this forum silently. this is a great forum, we don't know each other but we give very honest advises or may be we give honest advises coz we don't anyone , just kidding.
