hey there, i wouldnt have written this but i know that there were people following my prep journal and have been asking me to report my experience so here it is.i studied for 4 months straight with two months of consistent, if not intense, reading.i did the dvds for almost all the subjects in approximately a month and then i kept reading the notes over and over again.my resources were Kaplan DVDs Kaplan notes for all the subjects High Yield Embryo Clinical Snell's for Anatomy Goljan Audio pretest and other assessment materials included Kaplan simulated 56% NBME Form1 440 NBME Form 2 410 NBME Form 3 430 NMS Review UW cumulative 70% QBank QBook Board Simulator USMLE CD 39,36,41 MRS Goljan Test the paper,i'd say, wasnt extremely tough or anything.it wasnt a bit like the feedback people give you after coming from the Prometric.it was a mix of questions but honestly,i didnt come across any unseen, unheard of things.i had a great feeling about my paper, therefore an 88 did disappoint me in the beginning but i guess that was what i was destined for and i seriously owe this score to a great, very recently-made friend of mine.had it not been for her,i wouldnt have scored half of what i did.Dearest Salmonella,u have been a great support.I have learnt so much from you that i dont think i would have on my own.You are one of those people who shower the ones around them with knowledge and guidance.you have a great mind and great learning skills and you sort of transferred some of that to me while i studied with you.i studied for 4 months, but in those ten days i think i stepped up my score about a hundred points.a lot of people might consider this an extravagant show of affection, but this is the least i could say about her.if you guys are lucky,u might get the chance to be her friend someday.i have been extremely lucky to have found a really good friend in her. as for you guys, all the best.Go get them.

I told you that YOU WILL PASS how much apart did you took the NBMES and on what dates before the test. Which NBME was more similar to the test? Will you compare the test like UW? What part of UW you think was the HY for the test? My test is thiswednesday any advise to do in this 3 days left? GOD bless

Congratulation multifactorial. 88 is the good high score . Had friend with that score with st 2 abit higher , did get into surgery residency not long ago . Keep it up . Have you do the kapmed essential, FA , golj patho RR text or his live lect notes & BSS ..did you do all books or just selective volume ? Re:Q .... when did you start with which one with which read ? Could you summarize your 4 mo study , prep in terms of hr, pages, dvd per day with which subj , Q , how many repeat , etc in detail schedule, in serious & non serious study time. Very impress with 4 mo study with high decent score with multiple reads , with alot of Q done. GL in your next one. Thanks to you , now we know how to catch salmonella [ thought disappear] , as rubella , & will try to get her attension as study & friend . Both of you are my fan .

thanks everyone for your kind words.all the best to you guys too the answers to those queries are as follows GOGETA:i took NBME 1 and 2 in march and NBME 3 ten days before my exam, that would be the 17th of april.NBME 1 and 2 were closer to the real test in my opinion and my score predicted that i would score 204 max,so i think it was still a reasonable predictor.the test wasnt like UW the least.it was more like the kaplan QBOOK,moderately difficult.i took the Kaplan Simulated on the 28th of jan and that really helped me assess myself and gear up for the exam. RUBELLA/SALMONELLA:you deserve more.you are a beacon of light for many people out there.Sorry guys, she's taken lol SHWEHOPE:i didnt really do FA,never looked at Medessentials or any of the other material that u have mentioned.it took me about ten days to finish the physio dvds as they are the lengthiest, then i did behavioral in about 4 days, immuno in 2,anatomy in 3,goljan audio in a week, pharma in about 2,biochemistry in 2.neuroanatomy in about two days.i never set any goals as to the number of pages that i would do,i rather divided time topicwise.i studied from 4-6 hours until march and then i studied for about 10-12 hours a day in april.i did a lot of questions. and not just from the usually recommended sources.u can see from my resource material that i used a myriad of material that isnt very talked about even.but i kept solving any questions that i could lay my hands on.serious/nonserious mode!well dude, with the amount of time that i was dedicating to my prep,i couldnt afford any nonserious mode but i would always take breaks on weekends otherwise you run a high chance of burning out.as for the number of repeats, seriously i never kept count of them.i just kept revising.there is no formula for the successful number of repeats.take the test when you are ready.but one thing i learnt was that short-quick reads are almost as beneficial as long, slow reads if you have your concepts made right from the beginning.always keep your book by your side when you are watching the dvds.keep making notes in your books, especially while listening to goljan.his words are pearls.another thing,if you have done your kaplan well,u shouldnt need anything else.the paper was completely from kaplan.so all the best.if you have any other questions, then i am here to answer.

Multifactorial, Thank you very much for your prompt reply with complete detail. It's true, without counting page & too much time restiction , just keep on studying is more progressive & efficient. You lift up my hope, & boost up my study speed, to believe in my study style.. I am using all kap LN etc including dvd too & Golj audio plus his book. I forget to ask one more Q.. re all images, pictures, slides, skin, patho, histo, diagram, CT, MRI... how much in exm, is that like some said every 4 to 5 Q ? DO you need to read all web path, net anatomy, wayne university, etc , BRS anatomy , HY embryo, BRS histo, neuro interm of pictures ? Would the Q stem good enough to ans the Q of pictures, images? Seems like start prep in end of Jan, start with kaplan simulated , is that correct ? When is the best time to start the Q , with which one after another ? I agree , short intense study better than slow long study[ usually not study long hr, since have longer mo. in schedule] with keep on reviewing that makes you remember what you've studied when doing the Q. Thank you agian. GL in next steps.

thanks guys for wishing me.all the best for everyone out there SHWEHOPE:i got many slides and pictures and a couple of angiograms too.but usually you can work them out on your own.i went through the webpath with Salmonella once and that was all.but seriously, you cannot guarantee correctly identifying a picture even if you have done all the pictures in the world.so i can only suggest the webpath if you ask for a good resource for pics, but again i dont think one could prepare enough for the pics.take the kaplan simulated when you think that you are in a reasonably good shape.i'd say that i took it a little early and so i had to depend entirely on NBME later in my preparation.i followed a pattern while preparing and followed it while revising also.i would start with physio, then patho, microbio, immuno, pharma, neuroanatomy, embryo, histo, anatomy, behavioral and then biochemistry.(i hope i didnt leave anything out).As for a good time to start solving questions,no time like the present.start them right from the beginning and keep doing them religiously until you get to the end.all the best
