How to explaint to the patient that we are going to do the differnet tests such as cranial nerves,motor,sensory,reflexes,co-ordination.
Is it ok if we tell- I am going to assess your cranial nerves now" or should we have to put it in more simpler terms.

Just keep it simple...
i.e. - "now i am going to ask to you to do a series of things to assess your nuerological function, OK? Just follow my commands, OK?"

Hey...I practised a case of headache today----Did it perfectly(as in UW) but My time was up when I came to cerebellar tests!!....Is there any suggestions to improve on time..Even with practise, I think CNS might take time. Is there any suggestions?? like..
Can we do proprioception and vibration only in LL?
Should we have to do heelpad test for cerebellum?
Is it amndatory to use snellen's chart -If not , Should we have to stand 10 feet away and ask them to count the fingers???
Pls drop in ur suggestions!

remember the exam is really fast paced... inspection i usually done while doing other manuevers... the only formal inspection you will do is gait inspection...
if you notice a bruise, scar or any other abnormality then ask about it...

everyone has the same problem they can't finish the CNS case... a full CNS exam takes time...
i didn't finish my nuero exam...
it's important to remember that the PE is only one component of your ICE (Integrated Clinical Exam) score... make sure your history taking, interpersonal skills, and communication skills, are on point for the nuero case to make up for your possible incomplete CNS PE
