Dear All,
I have been a silent reader of this forum and want to thank everyone for their invaluable advice-now its time i add my two cents-
I took step 2 ck on May 1-passes through OASIS today- result posted on May 23.
A lilttle bit about my background - i am a graduate of 2002- gave my step 1 2003 and CS 2004 and passed both in first attempt-scoring 90 in step 1.
I had a baby boy end july 2006 and started studying for step 2 ck end Oct- for the first three months till end jan i was able to study only 4-5 hours in a day when my husband came back from work and looked after the baby-those were the toughest three months of my life and all this is possible only because of my husband-Then feb onwards my mother came over and helped me with the house work and baby sitting-so i was able to study whole day and took my exam May 1-

since it has been a long time since grad -it was tough to pick up the threads initially but i kept at it - Did three revisons of kaplan notes and uworld twice and step 2 qbook and parts of step 3 q book-
SOme thing that really helped me and saved my time and i would advice this to everyone doing u world - i highlighted the notes instead of writing them down- like if i was reading an explanation-i would highlight all that i would like to read later in u world-the software allows you to do that and it is saved till your account expires - so that ways i saved a lot of time and then next time round i read only my highlights and learned them well-
The exam - well it was TOUGH- very vague qs and much longer than u world - my experience was a lot like pyrigove and others who got very vague qs- i marked 7-10 qs per block but didnt have time to review any -just had enough time to finish the blocks - had a very mixed feeling after the exam-it was LOong and tiring and it broke my neck and my back- couldnt really say how i had done- none of the qs i got were like u world- they were much longer and very vague- now i dont want to discouage anyone here- alot of ppl do get a lot out of u world but then this was my experience-and u world is the best available source so go for that full throtlle but be prepared to face an unknown pool of qs and then do your best at it- As far a prep goes u world and kaplan is the way to go -rest is your luck and your nerves-just face it as it comes-
Now waiting for my result - thankful to Allah for the strength he gave me and my husband for all his support ,my mother for listenening to all my bickerings and helping me get by the day and my lil boy for letting mommy studysmiling face-it wasnt possible without their cooperation-
if anyone needs any help with anything ill be more than glad to answer- will write more about my prep once i get the result-
