well this is to lift the spirits of the many who are aprehensive about fast closing exam date..well i started to study immediately after finishing my final year exam..i was managing my preparations along with internship..so i was concentrating less on solving questions, so ended up not solving all the imp question banks like BSS.NMS.KAPLAN Q BOOK.NBME, only good was i solved usmle world , robbins , webpath, q bank that help me a lot..
the worst thing that happened during the exam was i had never had exam oriented preparation like time management so i was strugling to cope, majority of my quetions had big stem which made things worse . though my exam was easy i made a mess of it. so my sincere advice to all u guys please solve as many questions as possiible esp like KAPLAN STIMULATED TEST..u learn to solve the question faster and u get wat u deserve....all said and done i got got 99 some thing to cherish..but i made some silly mistakes as i was hurrying to finish each block on time.. yar!! it was crazy i didnt have time to revise marked questions properly (never given a 8 hour exam before giving my test )..
my average scores in usmle world,webpath was 80 above..spent 5 to 6 hours for study but not regular
i could have done better.. guys take my advice before your exams spend more time solving question banks
so guys if i can with this kind of preparation y not you

Can you please give us some more details on your studying strategy: How many readings for each subject? How long was each reading? How many pages per day? ...

thank you..about stimulated test u can ask in the local kaplan centres..well if u r from bangalore u can also try in test centre i heard they give practice exams 6000 per test..well nmbe too is good practice..
well about my preparation my first study took long (i was in major posting) 4 months ..
1st revision took 4 months..
3rd 2 months i mostly did topic wise just say digeorge syndrome i used to go through t topic in all subjects say biochem,anatomy,patho,...Mostly i did patho centered (WITH GOLJAN HIGH YEILD..GREAT BOOK I FEEL ITS MUST) study if i took cardiologr in patho then i would revise cardio of pharmac, heart in anatomy, any infections in heart referred microbio just like that..well seems odd but helps in solving question..
and last 45 days did usmle world..great thing just read the topic covered in quetions from text ...note most of the question i got were from the topics covered in usmle world
TOTAL 12 month study..
