NEED HELP .....i know it sounds stupid but want to confirm this...i was doing usmle step 3 CCS CD , in case 2 , in which pt has rheumatoid arthritis , when we order test to confirm diagnosis , do we have to send pt home and then give follow uo for next day ........and does this apply to all office case where there is no emergency or need to admit pt???

one way to approach this is ==> think of it as if you were seeing a patient in your office.
Do you let him/her sit there and wait for the result ? of course not
Do this appy to all cases ? every case is different, if the test result is available within 1-2 hours, then you dont sent him home, but instead forward the clock
