:?: Hi friends, Just wondering if someone can offer their advice, I am currently in the states under an HIBI visa, as an elementary school teacher, wich to tell you the truth I really don't like, and also leaves me almost no time or energy to prepare for the USMLE, sisnce I did not go to colege to be a teacher, next semester Iam supposed to enroll incolege course work, to keep working as a teacher, I am thinking of going back to my countryand prepare for the tests, even if it means giving up the visa and having to practice medicine there for less pay, do you thing this is the right move?? All sugestions are greatly apreciated.

Do you want to make more money or live in the United States? Is not eazy for people who are not raise in the U.S. to get use to living here but if you want to do both you should stay in the U.S. It might be difficult for you to come back later.

:? thanks for replying, I think you are right about I have to decide if I want to live in the USA for now, or Pass USMLE,and I want to pass usmle, so, there is little chance of me preparing the rigth way for usmle, if Iam here so caught up in my current job, so I will try to prepare for step1 one time, if I pass, I'l keep my job while peparing for step 2 , if not I will go back to Mexico and prepare intensivelly for usmle.

Check with your attorney before you do anything. See if you will be able to get another H1b visa - especially in another field. Good luck

Hopefully I'll get another sponsor to transfer my visa into the medical field, but the chances are slim, maybe in 5 years i'll get a green card, since both of my parents just became US citizens one year ago but since I am married it takes a long time, but lets see what happens.

Hello, Well if you are marry, your parents are U.S. citizens, and you have a visa for right now, well stay in the U.S. but see an immigration attorney as soon as you can. Is your wife a U.S. citizen or resident? Study when aver you get a chance. Do not stop studying!! Take care and good luck! Enrique

She is has companion visa, but I have to admit we probably gor ahead of ourselves in taking the visas because The other side was that I had to get into something very time consuming and totally outside the medical field, but hey, I have peace of mind now, I think I Know what I will do: In will study hard for the usmle because that is what I want to do, even if it means giving up this job, and have to return to Mexico, at least temporarily, thanks for your comments and advice, there greatly appreciated.
