but shouldnt prevalence increase? i mean--if the drug is affective, more patients live longer with the disease, which means increased prevalence. Prevalence would decrease if more patients die away. Please, correct me if i am wrong.

If the drug cures the disease then prevalence decreases, b/c pts NO lONGER have the disease
