getting pgy1 and pgy2 positions in a top noch program will open doors in order to get pgy3 4 and 5 in other places or not????
i mean if you get a preliminary possition in john hopkins, then it would be easy to get a position elsewhere?

once i read but i dont recall where that after finishig 2 years of training of residency in one specialty they dont let you to change of specialty
so if u finish pgy2 in preliminary surgery you cant switch to im !!!! OR AM I WRONG????

Change of Specialty – The Regualtions state that “…the alien physician may once, and not later than two (2) years after the date the ‘alien physician’ enters the US as an Exchange Visitor (or acquires Exchange Visitor status), change his/her designated program of graduate medical education or training…” ECFMG is authorized to issue a change in program specialty before the completion of the second year of training. Once an Exchange Visitor enters the third year of training, a change in specialty is no longer permitted.
