yes... someone please inform about the FCVS... i thought verification was done through ECFMG and this was enough for the State boards also... now i am hearing about FCVS... do we have to go through another verification process for the state boards??? does this have to done before taking step 3? or after?

checked out the FSMB website about the FCVS.... Seems like the FCVS is a good thing to register for... Applicants who complete the verification process establish a permanent, lifetime portfolio of primary-source verified credentials — allowing quick, easy and inexpensive access to medical credentials. These documents can be used throughout the applicant's career for state licensure, hospital privileges, employment and professional memberships. For physicians, this service is extremely valuable for those graduating from medical schools outside the U.S. or Canada, where verification is often time consuming, costly and difficult. also it seems like ECFMG and FCVS has now "linked" info... http://www.fsmb.org/pdf/FCVS_eBulletin_March2007.... the choice is up to the applicant... but i think it seems worth it! However i didn't find the cost for the service on the website...

What I meant is if the FSMB can check your credentials through the ECFMG international credential service?

malkut, have you used FCVS yourself? If so please could you clarify some of my doubts regarding the online application and supporting documents? - does postgrad medical training refer only to US training or training from home country too? - do i have to fill in the clinical clerkship forms as an IMG who did not have an away-rotations? i.e. all rotations were completed at my med school? thanks a bunch!
