Hi guys! After being sooo nervous about waiting for my results, I PASSED CS! I was very worried because I made a lot of mistakes and wasnt feeling good on the day of the exam, but here I'll tell you a bit of my experience. I prepared for a bit less than a month, only on afternoons because I worked part time. First I read First Aid and some topics from Kaplan, and then started practicing with my husband who was taking it with me (it was a great advantage, cause maybe I wouldnt have found someone to practice that much). What we did we took the sample cases from FA and we turned each other to do them... after we finished then I got to do the ones he did and viceversa. It is very good to be very critical with yourself while practicing, because whatever you get used to when practicing, you'll do it on the exam. So practice always as if you were on the exam itself, with the gown thing and the foot table and all of that... I was lucky cause i got to practice in a real dr. office that had a patient bed and gowns and sheet and all of that... and I highly recommend it. A mistake I think we did was to fly to the city of the exam 4 days earlier than the date of the exam... we are from outside US, so we had to fly on friday and the exam was on tuesday... we got pretty distracted when we got to take the exam... we didnt go out much those days, of course, but we had to take walks in order to get food and stuff... uh, and considering that I was pregnant with 15 weeks, those walks didnt do very good for me. On the day of the exam, I didnt feel nervous, but I definitely acted as if I was... my first case was a lil bit shocking because I kindda got 2 symptoms on the presentation, when we were used to practice with only one... it freaked me a lil bit and thats when I started to think I wasnt going to make it. I got a terrible headache and even got nauseous at once... I felt I was doing the exam in automatic mode, cause once I was writing and when I got conscious about what I was writing I noticed I had described an abdominal exam when I hadnt done so... I just got automatic mode hahaha (of course, when I noticed I marked it, cause you're not suppose to write what you didnt do). I had trouble lifting the gown, because in that particular center they were very long! but well, I managed to do it as best as possible. I did 2 fundoscopic exams and didnt put it on the patient note (great, I forgot). got the door knocked 2 times (thanks God I was just coming out), forgot to do most of the counseling (but I did do the closure in almost every patient , but 2-3). I found the Mini cases from FA SOOO HELPFUL... Well, I just am glad I passed, cause after the exam I definitely thought it was the worst experience in my life, and I felt I had failed... probably all my prayers worked! If you have any questions just let me know, good luck guys, this exam is all about practice, so you can do it. And if any of you are afraid on being pregnant taking the exam... YOU CAN DO IT Again, good luck!

Drmaran Can't say what the outcome of your blunders may be... however many mistakes have been made on this exam with positive results... Keep positive... look at old CS threads and try to see if other people who passed had similar mistakes as yours... good luck... and keep us posted
