so nice to hear that someone misses me. actually studies not going well. too saturated after step 2. gave it in april. today did 5 ccs cases in the afternoon. have to do uw mcqs rest of the day. feeling quite left out and low actually. tried to get externship, but didnt succeed so far. somehow have to gather the enthusiasm... not much time left .. exam in one month

How is step 3 prep doing for you guys..This is I will say the most difficult....I am planning to take it during last week of July but I don,t know if I will be ready..
I am doing UW right now and my mean is 47%..I did around 50% of UW question on timed mode and mixed question....
I am still working on my week areas but it is very hard..I haven,t start doing ccs CASE yet..
Any advice?

Be familiar with CCs ASAP, you will feel a little bit relaxed. I did CCS firstle before doing MCQs.
I just finished 15% UW, score about 55%.
I will start step 3 again when I finished Clinical Practice Guidelines, I have to do at least 24 MCQs/days + 5 CCSs.

i did usmle world, and went through half of kaplan notes and half of first aid
now i am doing ccs cases and steps123 qbank
exam in four weeks
fight!
did only ccs case....keep going....

hi resideny08,
I was about to start the step 3 prep two weeks ago but my son got sick so i could not. I am thinking about starting still. One advice i got was to start from ccs cases i downloaded fro usmle.org website. I did two cases but some how i have no clue how to tackel them. I tried reading the feedback but still confused as to how to do these cases perfectly. After this i plan to start firastaid and then UW.
Lets make a schedule to finish this step in two months. Goodluck.

Hi sarika ,
Sure, I think we shud motivate each other to get over with this exam asap. I really am finding it hard to pick up books after a week of my step 2 exam but I think it will be easier if I do it now .
Well , I went thru first 2 CCS cases in usmle cd and was like ahhh whats this ... I felt so terrible , feel like killing myself . I think the best way to tackel this is to practise ...
I am really bad at reading books so I plan to start with qs instead , what do u suggest , shud it be kaplan q book or UW ?

hi guys did 4 more ccs cases...
the best way for ccs is to practise, try practising fa or uw ccs cases on software( just type in orders and advance clock irrespective of pt outcome)
uw is a better q source than qbook definitely
i only solved uw till now and exam in four weeks....shit scared....
crush step 3 is also highly recommended ....so try gettin hold of that

dr croa5 when is ur exam....mine is on july 19/20
just did one block of q s from steps 123, very disheartening 54%, missing simple things and many areas are so confusing,
but have to keep going

Hi Sarika and residency08,
I was scared with CCS too but after reading all uw ccs I felt relaxed and now familiar with the software. Now I try to remember CCS of UW and FA.
You should do CCS first in order to know how to order tests, PE... We have known how to do MCQs already but not CCS.

ok so i did one trial ccs case from usmlestep123 and i wouldnt reveal the % i got...(its embarrasing) but can you guys tell whats a passing score/% on those cases?
Move along Thanks for asking my son is doing well but still occasional cough and he is home!

NO, UW has text only.
USMLE123 has CCS software.

everyone starts of with a low percentage on usmlesteps 123...but with practising and repractising ,,,we can easily hit 85 to 90 %...which will be enough to do ok in new exam cases......apart from that uw cases are also must
