hi,

does anyone know anything about medical assistant? is it hard to get this position? is it useful for matching? what is the difference between medical assistant and externship?raised eyebrow<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

as far as i know medical assistent is altogether different thing.... they are separately educated for years to act as medical personel as assistents or even as fully responsible at certain distant areas where there may be scarcity of physicians, they are paid quite handsome and i will love to do this in place of externships but unfortynately.......

If I may

MA is an assistant to a Nurse
PA is an assistant to a physician and you can prescribe in rural areas.

Physician usually requires a BA, which means you go to school for at least four years...
Medical assistants requires a course, which can be a couple of months...
To be honest, duty wise - I am not sure exactly what each can do and can not do...

8 months for a MA is a communty collage
up to two years for PA depends the requirments that the collage puts up.
