Hi Medocuk, today is a better day for us both Finished going thru Katzung's for endocrine drugs. After doing UW q's on endocrine, got 56% BUT most of the ones missed were guess what? Pharm! Got to get those drugs on cards. No more thinking on it, just do it, get it done and keep them close. Look at them over and over. Also, missed a few on repro physio, path & pharm, b/c I have yet to get to repro! OK, moving on! Happy Sunday everyone

You need to KNOW the MOA of ALL of the diabetic drugs. Also those flutamide, finasteride and other drugs are very important,USMLE WORLD stress them ALOT, and now I know why And dont forget those drugs for hyperthyrioidism, MOA and side effects

Eddie, I just got Katzung last week. How to use it efficiently? Maybe I have to made Flash card! Endocrine is always one of toughest areas, and your score was not bad. I have to run after you to reach endocrine and see those Qs...maybe in next month LOL Happy studying

Good morning Thanks again, GGT, for your pharma tips P4a99: thanks for reading the journal, and good luck with your finals!!! Huyniid: Hi, use Katzung to reference the areas that you need to be stronger in. Also do mcq's at the end of the chapter. The comprehensive mcq's at the back of the book are good, too. And yes, making cards is very helpful, as long as you use them over and over.

Hi, Acintya, that dear lady is so awesome, and has been such a blessing to us over the years. Every year she gives us cuttings, herbs and tomatoes and whatever else she grows. She puts me to shame energy-wise! God please bless me with her energy in my years to come! Hi, Afrocaribb! Hi Medocuk! Of course, as you can guess, I didn't stick to the 'plan'. That's why I am better with logging. Didn't do UW q's, but not a totally wasted day. Finished endo/repro physio, path, pharm. RM physio covers the histo, embryo and anatomy highlights, cool little book. Did some Kaplan Qbank Q's, 31/50. Not bad. Not great. Would rather get like 70's on Qbank, 60's on UWorld. Well...moving on to my mini-review of everything covered over the past weeks before I start reading next topic, immunology. This review may be just tonight, or go on until tomorrow, or the next day, who knows? I just know that I need to hit back over these areas really hard.

Dear Journal, and hello everyone This morning I worked out for the first time in a LONG time. I had forgotten how good it makes me feel. It is so important to have mind and body in tip-top shape, especially for something like studying for this mental marathon known as USMLE Step 1. As for studying, I went over all the topics I pegged for review in my handy-dandy FA. I spent a full 10 minutes on each page. So that meant some pages I went over 2-3 times. Studied over my notecards and charts. I just had lunch, so now going to attack some UW questions. Hi Medocuk, I may move on to immuno today. I'll see how it goes with UW. If 60%, I move on. Less than that, my mini-review will become mega-review

Oh, bloody hell! Did not make 60% on my UW's Crap! I would be happy with a 55%, even. No immuno for me just yet. Back to the MEGA review of the past weeks' concepts. This time, throwing in another listen of Goljan's neoplasia lectures on top of FA, notecard, etc. But first, a little bit from a favorite song: No, you can't always get what you want But if you try sometime, you might find That you get what you need. -Mick Jagger

Ahh, yes, GOGETA, I know. But the thing is, I also use it to assess how I am learning Here is what I know. I will get the score that I NEED for my future path in medicine. If I pass with a 75, then so be it. If I pass with a 90+, so be that. Sure, I am doing all this studying and reviewing and putting life on hold for the 90+, but if it isn't meant to be, then it won't be. I just know that I will be fine no matter what score. Moving on to immunology. I have the Lange micro & immuno text by Levinson and Jawetz to use as reference. Will go through FA immuno first, do some Q's, then hit immuno book where needed. OOps! There I go again, planning! Hope it works this time

hey stop beating yourself over the result.Do this with all your effort. What happens what scores you get aren't really in your hands. What is ..is the effort you put in.No sweeter success than the one you put your soul in for. With that thought I shall say good night. Ill see ya tom.

How I wish I could go work out,... I miss my Kick Boxing classes, they used to make me soooo good.. like you said, have to put our life on hold for this 90+ thingie, so have frozen my gym membership for 3 mths so I can get done with all the driving back and forth to Kaplan and then workout few days a week! I am still yet to use the word "review" leave alone mini vs mega review, so you are doing great my friend! Good luck with Immuno!

I...am...so...sore today Hello Journal, and all of you Step 1 Study Masters Today I spent some time going over the cards and charts. It's at the point now where I know that info like my phone number. Rather than doing more q's on UW, I will go again over the explanations of the incorrects. Cross-reference with FA. Then, start on immuno. Will update schedule later. I feel like a truck hit me right now, but guess what? I'm going to work out again tomorrow Thanks for reeling me back in, Medoc

Hi Acintya! Kick-boxing, now that is so cool! Get hold to those Tae-Bo dvd's, could help you with a good 15-20 min study break. Now becomes a Tae-bo kick-boxing break Imagine you are kicking the crap out of Step 1---that would be the ultimate motivator! I'd like to Tae-bo UW right now, personally

Sure, Concept. On my schedule, 5/01 is the date May first. When I am posting my qbank score results, 15/20, for example, that's 15 correct of a total 20 questions. Hope that clears it up
