Today, was going to go over my NBMEs forms 1 and 3, well actually, I should do form 3 offline first. New n Lost posted a request to discuss the forms in Support, I'm thinking that would be a good thing, but timing may prevent a full engagement from me. We'll see. Now I know none of you reading this wants to hear it, but I gotta get it off the chest, so stop reading this now, or cover your ears, ok? Here I go---------------Aaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!!!
[venting] I don't get it! I mean, I really don't understand why the hell I could not break scores into the 40s on that easy peasy form 1!!! There was nothing, absolutely nothing on there that was unfamiliar to me. On each section, I marked the guesses, about 10 on each. Got more than half of those right. But the others, esp the ones I didn't guess and still screwed up, getting those wrong just pisses me off  [/venting]
Whew, ok, feel better And now, a reasonable, graceful approach to this is to go over my answers on the form and really get into the grit of the incorrects. So, that's my task for this morning. Adios, muchachos!

congrats on facing the nbme.
well, whatever the ultimate conclusion on the score correlates, even if you arrive at a revised score higher than what you got now, it shouldn't matter, coz you gotta squeeze the value out of every minute left till your finish. that's gotta be irrespective of anything else. nbme, uw, qbank....yeah, good to do them, to debate about them, to score high on them. but you're slogging for the mles. that's the real thing. so' i'd wish you the score you want on the real step 1, rather than the proxies we take before that!

I still don't solve your problem of how to convert the 30's and 40's into three digits scores. I shud find out.
I have a question for you. I already did 3 forms of NBME 2 years ago. Can I not buy them again? Or can I? Also where does one find these tests offline. Maybe this time I shud not buy anything and do free online stuff I might actually pass.
U can reply only if u have the time. I know now we r running short of time..
But good luck. Be positive. See your mistakes and you will do it.

Hi Edie, be positive as medoc is saying. I think any form has strong and weak points they put in each subject. The fluctuation, methinks, reflects the variance of subjects that we are dealing with.
I also did Form 1 and Form 3, if you have time please discuss on some Qs.

Hello Angel and Hope, thank you for the well wishes
Finally got around to reviewing BRS BS, mainly the ethics chapter, good stuff, I missed many of the q's--so many answers were really shockeroos  and ones that could easily be bunked up by me on the real thing. Am going to go thru those ethics dilemmas once more sometime in the next weeks. Got through my NBME form 1 incorrects and guesses, so next up is to do the offline form 3 and then go thru those answers as well. Perhaps tomorrow. Did a batch of UWs, random, timed, for 56%. Made some really stupid mistakes, but will go over the explanations tomorrow. Now, it's time to "Goljan". I'll be Goljan-ing for the rest of the night. Good night

Good morning! Just finished Goljaning, only musculo and skin chapters. Will continue on to CNS later. For now, want to do offline NBME form 3. Recall that I did an online form and scored only 460. Aim aiming for 80% or better on the offline forms. Originally, I wanted to score above the average. At this point, just making the average on the real thing would make me so very very happy. And so far, after all of this prep, I am not even close. I could really break down and cry about all this, but the Yang in me won't allow it Instead, I will go over the HY notes for about an hour, then on to form 3. I wish for all a day of progress, success and positive results
