I am seriously lame...did 7 blocks of UW, very very very disappointed, scores so low this time, different, 48% I think I seriously have a brain leak going on. I study more, and score lower! What's up with that??? Man...have only a few weeks left. Don't know how much more improvement can be made in only 24 days. Well, will continue to do my thing with Goljan, FA, and q's. It can't hurt, can only help...right? P2b, no, am not done with the notes yet. Will keep you posted. Am going off now to run on treadmill and work off this wonderful tension headache I have now, thank you, UW Hopefully I'll feel like studying some more later.

Hi Edie, don't be so disappointed. Reading your prep, I know you are well prepared for the test, believe me or not. I think UW Qs are somewhat tricky and demanding more than the actual test does. Many of its explanations require keen and fresh knowledge from big textbooks. If you have time, please try one NBME, you will get your confidence back. All the best!

Tell me about those bloody questions man. I almost wanted to quit. But you know what, We are going to beat this demon. Have faith in your hard work. It always pays. I reckon if we could take bad score slightly positively and say now we know this, better wrong here than on the test. we should be OK. Thank-youThank-youThank-you. For being there for me.

Ed , as MDU said better wrong here than at the test , famous Dr. Fisher said it too MDU , so you're at his level Ed, MDU do not , pl do not let UW Qs beat your confidence down. Ed , 24days is alot , do every minute count for study, excercise, eating, sleeping , keep healthy & study hard. Do not forget your flash card, notes for quick review , pharm too, apart from Golj , FA , Qs UW Q bank review . Stay up beat Ed , you can do it & you will as you said . GL

Everyone, thank you so much for the supportive words. I have been going back through the Goljan lectures, doing more rewinding and careful listening, and checking my book/notes. I went through all my q's from UW, corrects plus incorrects, and looked up stuff in FA and RR Path/Goljan notes. I believe I have everything I need, resources wise, to beat this exam. It is a matter of really consolidating all the information for better grasp of the concepts, integrations and mechanisms. Emphasis on integration And repetition. My next NBME is set for the 14th. Yuna, Shwe, Med and Acintya, everyone, I know that I will be fine. We will all do well. Failure just really isn't an option Power on, ladies!!! (and to any XYs reading this ) I am so wanting to annihilate this exam. Back to the lectures now. Happy studying to all!

Ok, after giving the Goljan HY notes and FA their proper attentiion I saw a score of 64% on UW, random and timed, set of 25 I attribute roughly 6 of the 16 correct to Goljan alone. The HY notes are like FA, to be read over and over and over. Not one word of either is to be taken for granted. My mind sometimes comes across a concept and tells me to gloss it over--no more of that! Everything is important, so can't do any more skipping! Must be thorough.

You know, Med, it's possible that the guys of UW are reading our journals and feeling sorry for us, because the last couple sets of UW I have done have been so easy, I'm talking about most answers with corrects at 70% and above. Yes, it does help the old ego to get high scores on UW for a change Today, I covered all of the 100-pg notes plus 2 sections of FA, then gave another listen to Pappi's fluids lecture. I glanced at the 44-pg set of his notes, they seemed a bit different from the larger set, so covering those too.

Seriously, MT, Med, it's true! UW q distrubutions are wacky like that. Do more batches and you'll see. But I am not saying this to negate my studying and efforts, MT, not at all. Doing the HYs with FA is definitely earning me extra points on all my q's lately. Trying to keep them up at 100+ q's per day. Need to start repeating incorrects as well, for good coverage of the concepts likely to be tested. Today, will tackle my Robbins qbook. But first, another read of HY Biochem notes and FA biochem for this morning. Good morning!!!

Mytime...seriously?!?! Why would think I was a guy? 100% XX, no 5 alpha reductase def, no CAH, no hirsuitism due to PCOS---see? this is what studying does to me! LOL!!!!!!!!! KG and AC--thanks for rallying me on, I need this, it is very helpful these last few weeks/days of "Crunch-time"!!!! Paheli, thank you, Yang is my fave on G's Anatomy. Can't wait to see what she does post-Burke! Medoc, more than halfway thru biochem in FA. Going over and over the crap I missed on UW, e.g. collagen synthesis--which part goes on outside of the fibroblast? And enzyme deficiencies. UW q's on these are very nitpicky, but the answers all in FA--I keep overlooking that stuff, so making myself sloooooooowwwww dowwwwwwwnnnnnnn.

World news, right! I get my news from my hubby when I can. Lucky for me, G's anat season is over while I prep for the MLE. Step 1 date Aug 31st. No prob for the link, that experience is really funny, but a little scary too, right? Just did a batch of 25, timed, unused, 56%. There were lots of easy ones there that I missed (80% correct on one of 'em stuff I forgot, but won't miss again, no way. Yes, I have heard too many test takers say they wished they had given more time to FA while prepping. Same for UW. Let us heed their words!!! In Goljan We Trust
