Edie , I love what you wrote in P2B's journal.

May be you can instruct us about weight loss program too along with study guidancewinkgrin.

You know , increasing study graph and decreasing BMI is the dream of most of us here grin .Fortunately both are achievable but need perseverance.

Anyways, you are doing very well. Keep it up. GL.

Hey, U1, sure, here's a run-down of the plan:

1. diet change- drink no less than 4 L water/day. Increase proteins, reduce carbs, but also watch cholesterol and sodium intake. Example: breads or muffins ok for breakfast; she does mix match between fruit yogurt smoothies, egg white omlettes, oatmeal, whole grains toast, bagels, piece of fruit. Tries to buy only organic. Lunch is heaviest meal, like skinless chicken breast or fish, or lean red meat, with green salad, no breads. Dinner is very light meal, like salad, veggie plate, soup, etc, no breads. Snacks/desserts are nuts, cheese, yogurt, fruits, veggies. No cake, ice cream, cookies, salted snacks. She has been on this diet for a while now, and is wearing US size 12, down from size 18 just last fall.

2. exercise-she does no less than 40 minutes cardio workout per day, bike or running. Weight training and stretches--she does target toning w/trainer. I do total body workout with weights, 20 minutes, plus jogging 1-3 miles or speed walk on treadmill. She works out 5 days/week. I used to do 3 days/week. Since I started yoga, I slacked on my workout, which is why she came over to put me back in my game grin

Plus, she takes omega-3 and flax seed oil capsules, skin looks so young and glowing, eyes brighter, hair shiny without products. She sometimes puts lemon in her water, sometimes a little apple cider vinegar, and drinks raised eyebrow says it helps curb appetite, boost immune sys...ok. I am definitely going try the diet, but can't do workout like that, it hurt, esp thigh exercises. Can't afford trainer everyday nod Also, am a bread freak nod, so will try to phase out bread. Slowly.

Finished RR Path, listened to audios, and now, breaking for dinner, bowl of soup, no bread...well, small piece only at end of the soup wink And lots of H20!!!

WOW Edie, great advice, I am struggling with my weight, the funny or not funny part I would say is that I have given weekly menus to my patients, I have a computer program where I can calculate their calory intake etc, I have give them advice, and my patients have lost weight, and I can't seem to follow my own advice..(smiley sad face, angry face)

I want to go to see a back surgeon and show him my MRI so he can tell me exactly what exercises I can do with my 2 lumbar hernias, because I started doing abs and I think that was what hurt my back more, so not sure. But I am trying to do the bike everyday now, because my cloths don't fit no more, and my back hurts and I am low energy etc.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Hi Edie, I have a question for you. When I download netanatomy from your post, I was able to extract all files. I followed the instruction and open the firstread file and then I was able to see the some webpages but all image files are blocked by internet explore. I got a message saying you can disable block but there is a risk to damage your computer. Do you have the same problem? Should I unblock? thank you very much!!

Good morning Journal, hello friends smiling face

I took the day off y/day to catch up with domestic things like laundry, dusting, mopping, etc. Now that the house is in order, back to the grind!

Hi Tryp, yes, had the same issues with the pics, and did have to set the options in IE. I have a good anti-virus program, so no worries.

I am glad you guys/gals find the diet post helpful. I think I am def going to stick to yoga and walking, plus weights scattered in. Yesterday, made the omelette with egg whites plus bowl of oatmeal, a peach, and lots of water plus tomato juice, and lots of energy and no craving for food until almost dinner time! Dinner was small piece of salmon filet and salad. The diet is a keeper.

For today, moving over to CVS. Will dedicate an hour to pharm sometime today, have been blowing pharm off, bad Edie, bad!!! Tomorrow planning to do 7 blocks of 50 random, timed in UW. Target score is mid-60s.

  #435

hi edie, good to see back and all in ordergrin, wow 7 blocks UW all the best edie, since almost like real test,so share detail experience,im sure u will cross 60 nod

Ok, studying cardio wears...me...out. It bugged me out in school, and it's bugging me now, big time. Oh Frank Starling, if you can hear me, send me your blessings confused Whoever is reading this and plans for cardiology, you have my utmost respect nod Didn't do any cardio q's yet, I got no nerve...well, will attempt a handful of Kap physio q's and see if anything meshed from the reading of BRS physio. Tomorrow wink

Did a half batch of UWs random, tutor, with 58% shaking head Some days high, others low. Today was low day. Cardio killed my confidence madshaking headnod

  #440

Medoc, 7 lbs will melt off of you before you know it nod

KG, thanks, crossing 60 is the destination, for sure!

Unique1, yes, doing weights to tone muscle, increase stamina for clinicals. Try the strap-on wrist weights and ankle weights for your treadmill exercise wink

Myytime, don't freak out! I have done enough of that already, for us both nod

Shwe, you are welcome. GL with the bugs smiling face

  #441

EDIE, YOU ARE REALLY SCINTILLATING, WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK FOR YOUR PREPARATIONS,YOU CAN DO YOUnodnod

  #442

I know what u feel about cardio...I have been sufferring.

  #443

Hi Sumings, welcome!

Hi Medoc, suffering is an excellent choice of words nod

Hello Journal, am done with my practice test, results are off the target at 56% sad Only did 5 blocks of 50, by the 5th, I was DONE. Mentally, physically done. I took breaks, ate some lunch after 3rd block, drank juice and had peanut butter on apple halves as snacks, and still...ran out of steam after 250 q's. If someone came with a gun to my head to make me do 2 more blocks, they'd just have to shoot me. Seriously.

Now, taking 2 hours off to watch tv. Need comic relief! After that, I am going to do FA cardio section, then maybe Goljan. Or not.

  #444

Whoa man u have some energy. But come back and do your FA. that lil book is a art of wizadry methinks. wink

  #445

oh great edie, atleast u did itsmiling face...what mistakes u did?im sure u knew all so mistake swud eb in approach or something with attempting..look for it..nod

Good morning!

Medoc, I still need to work on my stamina issues. Need to be able to go all the way, you know? I'm going to do another practice session and hopefully, I'll make it.

KG, my blunders were in pharmacology, mainly. Following that, I made equal distribution of mistakes in cardio, biostats, patho, physio and pathophysio.

  #447

Today, still working through the cardio section of BRS Physio, which is excellent. Then will cover FA cardio section, then Goljan for CVS path. Hope to get to Kaplan q's today.

  #448

The more I read your journal the more I am thinking that you ARE Christina Yang gringrin

Good job girl!! Keep it up! Have a GREAT week of studying! smiling face
