Hello KG, MyT and Shwe Finished reading GI chapter of RR Path. Took a questions break and did 25 q's from Kap 2004 qbank: 20/25, 80% There were a few I guessed on and got right, and some that I got wrong that I should have known better on. But either way, am so glad scores are finally showing upward trend. And now, taking a physical break for tea, will sit outside in the garden, then will come back and do another section or two of FA. Shwe, I took your suggestion and only read the GI section in RR Path, but no audios for this one. But, will listen to this section hopefully later tonight

The thing is Ed audio GI, not go along , agree well with RR path, but audio & his live LN may be, not that sure. But Endo is good , audio can go with RR . Good move Ed, good move. Very high 80% . Is that FA talk or just the RR GI ?? So GI audio , try to go with his live LN Ed . Smell the flowers for me too , while in the garden,. From , Polluted big city , sitting inside the house with window close , AC on & off , your mate shwe Yang

Hi Shwe, the Kap Qbank q's I did were random (download version in PDF file ). I think the time I put in so far studying, plus going through FA and UW and Goljan are huge factors in the increase in scores. Plus my little tricks--notecards and drawing on the white boards Yes, the garden (not mine, but neighbor's) is so peaceful, but I too am in a big city, but not so when I sit in that garden with iPod and Bach or Mozart (am classical music fan).

Me, Bethoven too . So Yang alike , I told you so . Pl put the music on here pl, classical music good for soothing, less violent, calm ppl. Always on our busy big subway station, to decrease the crime, it did work For me it is as scientist researcher said, it good for brain , studying, raise the marks.

Hi P2B, thank you I feel like I am training for a marathon. But am careful not to burn out or get too caught up in doing poorly. My attitude adjustment, new exercise regime, which has spilled over to making dietary changes as well, except the wine splurge recently I think have all played a role in my results. If you read back at my earlier posts, you will see what I mean. I used to really get down and out with this whole prep thing, get obsessed over low scores, stay up too late, get up too early, eat a bunch of crap, and it began to make me ill physically. Done with all of that!

Good morning Journal and Study Buddies! Just finished my "eye-opener". Not an alcoholic drink, but a set of UW q's, 25, in random, tutor mode, 72% I took a look at the cumulative performance tab, and noted my weaker areas as those where I score less than 60%: Biostats-56% Anatomy-58% Pharm-51% Blood vessels-52% Cardio-41% Derm-54% GI-55% Head/Neck-58% Hep/Bil-56% Onco-50% Will finish up RR Path hep/bil chapter today, then will begin cardio and vessels. Oncology will have to be given a second reading, and for derm, will finish up the Robbins q's and carefully go over explanations. No surprise with the low score in pharm, will just keep going over and over the drugs.

Before I go off to read, just wanted to post an observation. When I do q's, whether timed or untimed, I do not go back over the q's immediately after being done with a set and change my answers. This is something that I always did with school exams. It was about 50-50, changing right to wrong and vice versa. I fear that I will do this on the real exam. I DO NOT want to do this on the real exam. It is soooo easy for me to do, especially second-guessing myself. So I need to start training. I want to be done with all the first reads this week, then just spend a few days per week of the remaining weeks left doing nothing but 4-7 50-question blocks in UW and Qbank. Need to do another NBME, not sure when, but it needs to be done. Also, need to hit Goljan's HY notes in final weeks, also. But for now, RR Path and FA, questions later. Happy studying everyone!

I don't second guess myself. But I faulter by not reading the questions carefully and hence end up getting a lot of questions wrong. I need to work on that. Good luck to you. I am hoping I will pick up on my scores in the coming weeks.

Thank you for all of the good replies, everyone! I especially do this answer changing business if there is time left over. I think it's part of test anxiety. I have none of that on practice q's, so will have to psyche myself out that real thing is just a practice test of UWs Good morning, Journal and Friends. Yesterday met with a study buddy and we threw q's and concepts at each other for a couple hours. She is writing the exam next week, and is ready. She tells me I am ready, too, and should write my exam sooner. We'll see, after next NBME Did my usual half batch, got 76%, one extra q more correct than yesterday. Some of the q's I got right because of RR Path, so will make it a point to cover all Papi's points! Still need to get thru RR Path and more FA. Study buddy has a classmate that wrote exam couple days ago, and she says "FA! FA! FA! FA!" so yes, now, I am an official FA Cheerleader, Yay!!! FA all the way!!! Woo-hoo!!!! Go team, go!!!

I just think I am too lazy & scared.Don't want to commit to the exam. The thought of having to sit & read continuously makes me find excuses not to read. I just can't seem to focus like I used to during my college days. All I want to do is play with my son or sleep.I know if I was determined, work, kid, hubby, household chores would not stop me from attaining my goals. But NOpe ,I just never learn my lesson.I still keep procrastinating. My dear friends I sincerely need ur help. This is my third time around.I love this profession,I want to be a Pediatrician.Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mytime, you are covering all your bases, good move! P2B, I will post my respone in your journal. Just finished an impromptu workout with a GF of mine, who has lost so much weight over past 6 months! She sees a personal trainer, so shared w/me some good tips. I welcomed the intrusion with open arms. And now, back to work!
