Hi, Gly, thanks, when you're under the gun in terms of time like I am, you got no leisure!

As long as you are still going at it..You need no kicking. How ever for a lil forgetting that your exam is so close helps if you can concentrate better. If forgetting makes u let go then u can kick me for telling you this trick. Good luck..

Hello Journal, Hi everyone.

Just finished 2 sets of 50 from Qbank, all subjects. Results are disappointing sad But since I still have yet to cover certain areas, eg neuro, neuro pharm, etc, I guess it's not too bad. Will give more detail later, after my coffee break, and then two more sets of 50 from UW.

Hi KG, pharm is still wearing me out. Putting stuff up on the board seems to be helping out some. No need to mention what I'll be studying probably for the rest of today (and tonight!) wink

P4a99, glad we are clear on things. I know how you feel, some of my classmates took the NBME 3 recently and got scores in the 500's. I feel I'll be lucky to get in the 400s at this point. Those guys? They are only studying with FA, Goljan audio and book, and mix of UW/Qbank. That's it! So you know, I began to wonder if I have been wasting my time reading all these other books. But you know what? They are them, I am me, you are you, and it will be what we make it.

Happy studying everyone, I'll be back later smiling face

  #234

Thanks Shwe, still in the middle of my pre-NBME pretest sticking out tongue Talk to you later smiling face

  #235

OK!!!! Am back from my mini-marathon of q's--running would have been easier wink Before I put results, let me explain how I did this. I intended to do 4 blocks of UW, random and timed. Instead, I mixed it up between Kaplan and UW q's, to the advice of a classmate, because of how different the q's are. Results:

Block 1 Qbank: 27/50=54%

Block 2 Qbank: 33/50=66%

Block 3a Qbank: 17/25=68%

Block 3b UW =15/25=60%

Block 4 UW = 31/50=62%

Entire practice test score: 123/200=62% This is an ok score that would have been 70+ had I been able to get my head around pharm during school...I have no one to blame but myself, I used to totally blow off studying pharm until the last possible minute, and that, dear Journal, has come around to bite me in the ass mad And so there it is, my confessional, and now, I must move on. I will cover the rest of pharm in FA, then I am moving on to something else. Oh, did some Qbank pharma q's last night: 52%, sucky, sucky, sucky shaking head

  #236

What was I thinking? 62% is NOT an ok score. Nope, nuh-uh, no way. Ok, it's Fight Club time! I am ready to rumble, rock n roll, and any other cliche American saying for being ready to kick ass!!!!

  #237

that ok dont worry u can do it say to urself, for pharm key is that memorization and for that need to repeat again and again.......like rt now i m doing like antimicrobial with pretest pharm qs...adding extra point in kap pharm.everyday one system from pharm with other book not all in oneday next day repaet same and other one.ANS ,GENERAL PHARM MOST IMP.know in and out with GRAPHIC FORMS.let me know ur progress u 'll be fine buddynod

  #238

Well now you know your weak areas. So you can attack them preferentially.

  #239

  #240

ed u r doin good..u still have time to catch up with ur weak areas

Hello Journal and everyone!

Phew! I am exhausted, just finished with my NBME. I picked form 3. Results: 460, according to the scale, that's a 209. OUCH! sad Well, I presumed as much, so no surprises. Form 3 is HARD, and showed me that I need to know Goljan and FA COLD. So many questions reeked of Goljan and FA.

According to the profile chart, my danger zone subjects include renal/GU (I got an asterisk here), musc/skin/CT, nervous and gross anat/embryo. Dang-blasted brachial plexus q's tripped me, I used to be the brachial plexus queen!!! Oh well, need to review that. I did borderline/low to boderline/high in all other subjects (mainly the ones I have reviewed these past weeks), above borderline in hem/lymph and resp. Couldn't believe I got borderline in pharm, expected it to be low, so the cramming on the drugs paid off the past few days. But it's not over yet!

The plan for the next 3 weeks: Read FA and listen to Goljan over and over and over and over. Why? Because every single question on that NBME that I had to guess on I saw the answers in FA after, or recalled Goljan talking about it, but I didn't commit it to memory. Well, this is it, the name of the game over the next three weeks is CRAM CRAM CRAM!!! I would really like to beat the US average, which is 218 last I heard. I'll be coming on here less and less over the next weeks, but all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers nod Until next time, GL with your studies smiling facesmiling facesmiling face
