A 55 yr old woman complains of stiff, aching hands , especially in the morning. X-ray of hands reveal expansion at the base of the terminal phalanges, and cuplike erosions and bony proliferations of the distal terminal phalanges. the patient most likely has
1. SLE
2. gouty arthritis
3. rhematoid arthritis
4. psoriatic arthritis
5. osteoarthritis

4. psoriatic (morning stiffness, distal joints, cuplike erosions)

the reasons for ruling out others:-
1) SLE: no history to suggest
2)gouty: no history/podagra
3) RA: involves PIP and MCP
4) Osteoarthritis: should have end of the day stiffness
