CK before Step 1?

Hi! I am thinking of taking CK before Step 1 because of some circumstances. I was also taking into consideration the time and that most of the people in the forum say Step 2 is not as hard as step 1. Would you recommend/encourage this?.... I would appreciate any advise from those who took the exams. Thanks! confused

I haven't taken the CK exam yet, but would agree with those who say that Step 1 exam seems to be harder than Step 2CK... In part, this is because we are now (i.e. after step 1) loaded with "full-size" pathology, physiology and pharmacology, which are the background for all clinical sciences. Many Ppl on the forum did what you are contemplating for yourself, and there is nothing wrong... You will just not have a sense about relative difficulty/easiness of CK exam, and trusting somebody's impression on this should net be misleading for you…

well lovies!!!!!!
everyone has different opinion regarding this matter...i gave CK before step 1 and for me it was a horrible experience!!!!!!!!!there were many questions i didnt know about...!!!!!!then i failed CK!!!!!!!!!!....people here on this forum sugeested me to take step 1 first....which i did and came to know, how important it is to take step 1 first...may be some people wont agree with me but its just what i expereinced..

I gave step2 ck first,The step1 stuff that they ask in step 2 which comprises abt 10% of the whole test is not that tough,just the basics,I dint find them horrible,they never asked any of the step 1 stuff in detail in step 2,that can push u towards failin step2,and i yes i scored a 95,and I NEVER REGRETED abt my decision abt giving step2 ck first..again there are some qs in step1 ,where step 2 knowledge is impo as well,esp in pathology..if u r a new grad,try taking step2 first..again Its totally up2 u which u prefer to give first.
