Peripheral Solitary Nodule in a 64 yr old male with 20 yrs of smoking history with normal X-ray 4 yrs before reluctant to have surgery but ready for diagnostic procedure , Next step :


a] fibreoptic bronchoscopy with biopsy
b] PET scan
c] Serial Radiographs
d] video assisted thoracoscopy and biopsy
e] thoracotome and biopsy

hey justoce that would have been a good alternative to E b/c less invasive (but this guy doesn wanna bu cut in any way shape or form
Ans B (more expesive but another alternative to CT scan)

its peripheral nodule so bronchoscopy will not be so helpful

he does not want to be under the knife, not even small incisions!!!

But, in Kaplan note, ther prefer the biopsy for such patient,,, You can review it..

yes adam I agree with that but look at what the information says specific to this case
