Situation for dentists is good...better than that for regular IMGs...as is (i dunno why!!!!) always the case. They too have to take 2 exams like the USMLEs...only thing ....they are way simpler and besides, you can take them multiple times to boost up your scores... Next...you apply to dental schools...and they have their interviews and/or special (generally clinical) exams...many good schools have special programs for taking in foreign trained dentists so even the "NO IMG" schools are open to dentists (this vexes me to the limit sometimes)...but there is a difference...dentists are admitted as 3rd year students...and not as directly interns or residents...and dental education in the US is co$tly...but loans/scholarships for dental students are plentiful.... Other routes exist...esp if you get a relevant masters' degree ..like dental public health (sounds incredibly silly, but it does exist) ..in this case you may be able to bump the 2 yr dental student requirement and apply directly as dental interns (whatever they are called) or for dental fellowships... the eligibility criteria for these vary from university to university.
