i know it may be a silly question for many but i really want to know if there is difference between match and prematch?

Yes there is a difference between them. PREMATCH, when they offer you the position before the match process. You will sign the contract and already know where you are heading to. MATCH is the process where you rank all the programs that you like based on preference AND at the same time each program will rank candidates that they want to have based on preferences. THEN a computer will match candidates with programs. So, you won't know where you are going to match or even if you are going to match.
