The rapid infusion of 1 liter of plasma in the femoral vein will have which of the following effects? A. Increase the end-diastolic reserve volume B. Directly reduce teh firing rate of sinoatrial node C. Increase the end-systolic volume D. Increase pulse pressure E. Decrease the end-systolic volume

D. Increase pulse pressure ; since rt atrial pressure increase->stretch->anf->vasodilation->decrease in diastolic pressure

Alrighty: the rapid infusion of femoral vein-----> incr Preload---->incr EDV----> incr SV at the expense of EDRV( excludes A) The incr SV mainly affects SBP, with an incr SV---> incr PP Answer D

I think the explanation given by luckyall is clear enough. So right answer is increased pulse pressure; end-systolic volume is unchanged because the incerase in preload is compensated by increased stroke volume
