Hi all , i been reading from this forum alot. I got some really good advice from people posting thier exp, so i want to add few words of my exp.
-If you haven't done UW , then plz topd reading this post and just go and get UW done. My exam was a replica ! so many questions on the actual exam were just copy-paste from UW.
-dont waste time with zebras, instead learn the common things really well ! i had alot on vaginal bleeds, COPD. truma, HIV, PE, DVT, labor complications, basic Neonatology.
-i wish i had 5 etra min on eacj block.
-once u start on a new block forget the previous one. same goes for questions in a block.
i think the exam was much easier than UW, esp regarding the chices displayed.

thanks guys ,
sure ,mainly i did FA , boards and words . i read those 2 books 3 times in 2 months
then i did kaplan qbook , and finally UW it took me another month. i did the questions in a timed mode and went thorugh all the answers.
it took me around 3 months to prepare. i honestly felt like those 2 resources were more than enough.
i hope i get in >90 !

hi wally as u hv given u r exam recently i hv one ? that the pattern or style of questions is like uw /kaplan/nbme.best of luck fr u r result.

hi wally.
congrats u r done with the exam. best of luck with the score. reading ur post decreased my tension atleast.i hopw we all get the same feeling. ive a question. im doing UW n my exam is in 25 days. i dont haev the time fr qbank. will uw be sufficient? i read kaplan n FA.

hi guys , thanks for ur warm wishes .
the thing is when i was reading this forum, i got so many negative vibs from some people regarding this exam., and at some point i was desperate.
Anyhow, UW is more than enough just make sure u study the questions. When i did UW i kept a small notebook nect to me and i wrote down the answers to almost all questions that i go wrong, and 4 days before my exam i reviewed my note and FA. UW seemed more defiicult to me than the real thing.
The type of questions were mostly :
- What is the diagnosis ?
- what is the best next step in mngement ?
- what is the best explanation for this ?
i guess u should expect to be asked on : child development , acid/base (easy ones), i had 4 EKGs, lots of OB, cystic fibrosis, HIV ALOT !!, trauma , dont worry about ethics and biostat they were stright forward
get a good night sleep and make sure u manege ur break time wisely. i skip the intro and that got me like extra 15 min. i did 3 blocks in a raw, then i took 15 min break. i did another 2 blocks , then another 15 min break. then i just did the last 3 with 12 min breaks in between.
