when we give anstrazole in breast cancer?

kaplan says inpostmenopausal....any one knows
any reply plz

Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor and should be use just for postmenopausal women with breast cancer with positive estrogen receptors.
SE: hot flashes, joint symptoms, weakness, mood changes, pain, sore throat, nausea and vomiting, depression, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, headache.

It is given in post-menopausal women with ER-positive (~75%) breast cancer.

Well, the indications are same, just an old option (used for more than 20 years). The newest approved treatment is AROMASIN, covers both estr-R and progest-R-positive cancers
