yes youre elegible
the problem is that many ask you to apply at least 2-3 months before the elective so you must apply NOW

my internship is paid & not required for getting my degree(though reqiured locally here)
I'll finish sep 1 in November
am I elgible to apply now for clerkship/externship for the new year? or I should have my score in hand prior to application?

as far i know u need step 1.. y dont u try to contact the universitie u want to try for clerkship

step 1 is not necesary in a lot of places but i guess is a plus!!!
but sicerely the major problem is not step 1
the problem is the health insurance, the malpractice insurance, the toefl, the visa, the immunizations paperwork, the price of the serologic titters and the scheduling fee of at least 100 bucks...

also, there are certain schools that offer electives to people who didn't take Step 1, but I haven't find them. I know mostly all the school that offer it to IMS and all of them ask fot step 1. I guess the ones that don't ask for you to have passed the USMLE 1 accept only IMS from LCME accredited schools.
in other order, electives/rotations are ONLY for medical students or people doing internship. for graduates, the only hands on experience that you can get is EXTERNSHIP or a clinical research position.

I don't know about these stuff much. I don't even understand very clearly what are ya tryin' to say. They will ask for a transcript and a letter from your dean saying that you're still enrolled in medical school and you're taking the elective for credit, or you're doing internship which is required in order to get the MD diploma, so you won't be able to do any scams 
Remember, these are electives or you may find them called rotations, they are not internships. Those are for AMGs and AMSs.

thx alot, I was asking about my eligibility for clerkship, mistyped it as internship, indeed I can get a paper that I'm enrolled in internship ..... if U cancel ur internship, U still can take ur Bechlotr degree to apply abroad, but U won't get ur Local work lienscence unless U complete it
I'll B happy if U can also provide me with the "No Objection" document that I need the dean to sign for clerkships

hi!
there isn't any standardised form that one should have. search the school of your choice and go through their requirements. you'll find everything, including the form you mentioned, there.

i been filling the forms for electives..few dumb questions 1.can i fill forms with pen or i type
2.there are 3 choices for electives should i change rotation dates same for each or should i keep them same

 ...now, dude, I'm a humble medical student.. I guess it's up to you.. if your writting is bad I guess you can type and print it. If you don't have a printer, write it by hand. 
You asked for my oppinion, so... I guess typing it on your computer and printing it is more elegant.
You can fill there one elective and 3 alternative dates in which you could do it in case the other is not available; you could fill there 3 electives which to take in case one doesn't allow you; or you could put there 3 electives which you wanna apply to (to all of them). You can apply to more than one elective on one application sheath in som schools (the 3rd choice) or thy require separate applications to be sent for each elective (with separate application fees).

thanks dude..i have a have printer at home.. forms are pdf formate , not ms word format ,so editing(filling) is difficult in pdf format..but yale asks for print or typing...i will continue filling the form writing with my pen though..
as and wen i get some dumb doubts in my mind i know ur there to help me..
