Let me make clear about my qs: they are both related informed consent. 1.Does prisoner have the right to sign the consent form( in the case of person from jail come to you accompanyed by a officer)? 2. 17-yrs older kids living at camp come to you accompanyed by the principlal or the officer. both are competent and looking for treatment. Who will sign the informed consent? I think the qs from NBME& Qbook? Himself or the Officer? 1st. ? 2nd. the officer?

Of course the innate has the right to sign the consent form! For the kid you have to try to find his parents; if is not posible the principal is "the guardian" and he has the right to sign.

I think the question was about 17-year-old in military camp. So the answer is the boy is signing consent, because army make him "emancipated"
