When we are describing the skin lesions of Tuberous Sclerosis, we describe the ash-leaf spots as HYPO-pigmented lesions. So what is the sort of description that one gives for cafe-au-lait spots? Also, is Epilepsy a MORE prominent feature of TS as compared to NF? Any other input to d/d between the 2 conditions?

Usually---cafe au lait spots are described as hyperpigmented lesions with colour ranging from dark brown to black. It is TS which usually manifest with seizures although NF can also do Points for TS : Mental retardation Haematuria/heart failure---signifying rhabdomyosarcoma CT--->Cortical tubers Periungual fibromas NF : Any 2 of the 6 criteria listed in Kaplan Usually axillary freckles and eye nodules differentiate these two... Hope this helps!
