Hi all:
is it correct that whenever i will set my exam time i can not back off ?
so does it mean tha i can push it extra 3 month ,but i can not canceil it ?
- should i register for taking the exam before 6 month or 2 month it will be enough ?

U can register whenever, earlier is better but pick the eligibility period which u honestly think will be right for u, meaning ask yourself when u will be ready so put that on the application say 'may-june-july; ECFMG will assign u the period that is available so it means u may end up getting the period of your choice i.e. May-june-july or they may assign u the nect available like june-july-aug. Now when u get your orange slip from ecfmg. Call them and set a date in that eligibility period say u pick June10. U can change this date max 5 days earlier like say June5, meaning if u r not on sschedule and u feel like u wont be able to go thru it on june 10, change the date no later than june5. So u can always do that, change your date 5 days earlier withing your eligibility period. Now for some reason, say u r not able to take the exam withing your elig period of May-june-july, then u can fill another application and pay $50 and move your elig period to Aug-Sep-Oct. But Oct 30 is the limit u cant back off. But some ppl dont even take the exam although they have paid for it so u just loose the money and dont take the exam.

These are just the options, not my personal opinon that u should do it or not. The decision ofcourse if of the individual taking the exam and Iam no one to judge anyone here

But suppose u take a date for 30th oct and that is the last day of ur slot even after extending it. and then u get it cancelled some 5 business days before say 24th oct. so then is it taken like a bad thing by the ecfmg people? I know u do lose money and have to apply againn. But are they going to consider this as a bad thing even if u got it cancelled before ur required date?

no ecfmg doesnt care if u cancel it or not, they r getting their money y should they care

i think i will need to register before 6 month as i was told... it will take time to send me the approval if i am taking the exam for the first time ?
