Hi guys, I have a simple question. Once you become FULL CERTIFIED in the US, in the case you are already a specialist in your home country (OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Psychiatrist, etc) is there anything you can do BESIDES considering starting residency again? Are there any alternatives? Thanks.

You Have to apply and do a residency to be licenced to practice medicine in the US. Doesn't matter if you were specialize din your country of origin. Guillermo

Can you skip one year of IM US residency if you have completed the IM residency in your home country?

Not necessarily. You have to do time in a US residency program - complete a certain number of months.....
