Salamo alaikom everybody (peace be upon u all), I thought I should send a message to all those colleagues who are not soo good in micro specially when they can't find a good book to study. I am a Kaplan fan in all subjects but when it came to Micro, I was shocked. the book is too bad, I hardly could remember a word from it & besides, it's too big. luckily, I have a copy of micro MRS, I like it, it's easy, well-written, nice pictures but couldn't satisfy me also. Finally I had my hands on HY micro, to me it's the perfect micro book but let me tell u something: it's the same Author of Kaplan's micro, the 2 books r almost the same but to me, HY is very well-written, much better presentation, keeps everything in focus & concentrates on the high yield facts. It is the best choice for micro although almost nobody knows about it.

Thanks for the pm amro. Well , I did not get a chance to check HY micro. In my first read , I read MMRS and Kaplan. I liked MMRS very much and after reading it , cramming Kaplan gets a little easier. In my 2nd read, I mainly read Kaplan with frequent glimpses on MMRS . Actually kaplan has all that you need to anwer the qs and for your final readings only kaplan is enough. It is a lot of cramming though , I admit

WAS amro ...hi unique trust me Kaplan is great...may look huge but its so fluent...can be crammed in 10 days ...immuno very well put...only the tables in parasite section is a little bit scary so you can make your own notes from them...review tables very well...still..of course it depends if you can get that (+) electric from a book or not on MRS...I happened to find the anatomy one in my house incidentally and it made me understand a few things I never could be able to since school...like mesenteries plexuses...and gives clinical hints ...definetely not a #1 book but when kept handy with Kaplan..makes life easier

thank u everybody for ur replies, I agree with u that Kaplan micro contains everything we need to know, may be more than enough but the way it is written doesn't appeal to me, besides, the micro video lectures are useless, a waste of time. I said that HY contains almost the same material as Kaplan as both are written by the same author but HY is much better presented & focused, that's it. May be Kaplan 2007 edition is better as I have 2004 edition but I still prefer HY as I have already studied from it.
