COMON NOT CERVICITIS IT DOESNOT CAUSE THAT MUCH BLEEDING PLUS SHE IS PREGNANT SHE IS HAVING THREATENED ABORTION.....SHE MAY HAVE DISCHARGE IN CERVICITIS ALSO COITUS IS A RISK FACTOER FOR MULTIPLE ABORTION AND PT WITH SUCH HISTORY are asked to abstain from having sex

cervitis does not present with bleeding cervicitis presents with mucopurulent discharge chlamydia gonococcus trichomonas herpes simplex virus human papilloma virus this is an abortion come on guys this was easy this information is from first aid

Q tells us nothin abt the cervix being open or closed but it does tell us that it is red and friable. A friable cervix is more prone to bleed esp with trauma.. coitus being the trauma here.
Uworld clearly mentions that the ONLY reason for abstination from sex in threatened abortion is to save the parents from the guilt of pregnancy loss if it happens.
At the time of estrogen excess vascularity of the cervix increases, so does the chance of bleed after minimal trauma hence, the increased chances of infection. This is the reason we see the association of cervicits with puberty, ocp use and at the time of pregnancy.

I don't think it is cervicitis cuz cervicitis ( as was mentined in previous posts) will come with discharge and even pain .... the cervical changes in pregnancy include the findings here ( to some extent ) and when the question say nothing about pain ... trust me ... u should considr the condition painless and here the cervix is absolutely painless which is very rare with a case of cervicitis.
THIS IS A FIRST TRIMESTER BLEEDING .... ABORTION ...!!please reply

pain before or after the hhge is not mentioned---the scenario is definitely an abortion regnancy + and 10 wks amenorrhoea (implantation bleeding ruled out).
bleeding continuously for 2 hrs --so blood can be dark.
ultimate ans: threatened abortion.

ITSTHREATENED ABORTION WHICH IS PAINLESS BLEEDING AND CAN BE TRIGERRED BY COITUSIF PLACENTA IS LOW LYING.WITH THIS AMOUNT OF BLOOD CERVICITIS IS LESS LIKELY IN CERVICITIS there is only vaginal spotting

I agree with cervicitis, first of all cervicitis can cause bleeding and it is not necessarily accompanied by pain, secondly why would we have friable reddened os in threatened abortion?

i think khorshid it would be friable ..becuse of softening of the cervix due to hormones ..secreted during pregnancy and red becuse of the blood ! any way .hope .the answer is posted soon..

I. Threatened abortion can have no pain. Cervicitis often results in bright red bleeding, not DARK blood in this case.
