Dear Friends, I took my exam yesterday at Atlanta. In all the cases I was able to ask almost all the relevant qs in history taking and also did the closing & counselling in all the cases. As a result I did not have sufficient time to do the physical exam in 7cases (only had 2-3 mins). How does this affect my overall performance. I am really tensed about my result.. Thanks and Regards, Swapna

Hey, In my opinion, you will be ok because physical exam contributes a very small part of the final score. Plus, for CS, physical exam should be focused, not a complete one. As long as you follow the check list, you will pass for sure. Good luck

Hai, The ICE component has history taking(HT), physical exam(PE) & patient note(PN) components. So it is sufficient if you get the passing points in all the 3 components combined. There is no need to get the passing points in HT,PE & PN components separately. Thats what I understood about the scoring pattern for this exam. Senior members, Pls correct me if I got it wrong.... Best of luck.

Swapna, I think what docarchana said is absolutely right. There will be about 20 points for HT and 10 points for PE. These two will be added to the points u scored in PN and the total is ICE. You shud get the minimum % in the total ICE. No need to get pass% in the HT,PE & PN individually. So if u did HT well and poor on PE, then it shud be okay. BTW, if u just washed ur hands, u will be getting one tick in PE for most of the cases. So relax now.
