Accelerated gastric emptying of hyperosmolar contents into small bowel causes fluid to shift from intravascular compartment into lumen of sm. intestine--->sm. bowel distention--->increased frequency of bowel contractions--->intravascular compartment contraction-->vasomotor symptoms(lightheadedness & tachycardia)
