I have a question I worked with aprivate practicioner who was in a cmmunity complex setting If he writes me o leter that I take histories and do examination will it be count as an externship? can he write that I did externship Or one need to do externship only in hospital;? plz do reply

I dont know about others but when i spoke with the dr i worked with in pvt setting, he told me whatever i do under his supervision (except ofcourse doing procedures) like history, examination is perfectly fine. He wrote all that in his LOR, and said i should write this experience as externship. He was asst professors at two big universities so i guess he knows.
By the way, i could never understand how taking history and doing examination can harm people so much so that becomes "illegal". Only thing is privacy issues, but then that will be affected by observership too as you, the observer is listening to every minute detail of that patients life.
