i have took Cs in November 2006 and unfortunately failed. I am going to take my CS on September 12. My question is how important to have your usmle step 2 Cs results by the time you apply to residency? Does it affect your chances to get interview if you have Step 1 and Step 2 scores more than 95?

are not ecfmg certified hows your english by the way

I disagree with the statement. They will look at your application, and will hopefully invite for interview. And, they will request "missing" docs if they like you. So, apply with whatever you have, and try to impress the interviewers by your brightness... Please remember, that double-95 isn't a guarantee of success... Most of the programs (especially in Academia) look for creative, intelligent students... Have in mind ideas you would like to pursue in research projects while you are in residency. THIS will help a lot...

yes you will probably get many interviews without the CS score... however your transcript will indicate you attempted it... I would try to take and pass that CS asap...
don't wanna go into interview season with a "not corrected" failure...
good luck!

It always looks better if you are ecfmg certified rather than
not so justice stop giving bad advice

Ram3 - why are you so negative and abrasive???

while is is better to be ECFMG certified before MATCH interview season, it is not a requirement... and MANY programs (yes i said MANY) will invite you for an interview without all three exams passed...
However in your case Toxicangel you have taken this exam and failed... therefore i believe your transcript will have that attempt noted and it would be better in your case to pass this exam before interview season...

btw - some programs do require ECFMG certification to be considered... they will clearly state that in their requirements... it would be a waste of money to apply for those programs if your aren't certified at that time

dear coca cola i believe the worst thing one can do on
this forum is get a 95 on step 2 ck as you claim in your
post and then say it is not a good score thats what you wrote.
for your information the majority of people do not score 95 and above and when they read posts from people like you that makes them feel bad and think they cannot compete for a residency

Wait a minute Mr Ram3... how silly of me - i thought this post was about ECFMG certification during Match interview season???
or am i addressing the issue and YOU going off on your own little warped tangent???

This forum is about sharing information... not infusing remarks with your own little negative, cynical thoughts...

BTW my post states my 95 isn't a fantastic score, but a GOOD SCORE!
WHERE DID I SAY MY SCORE WASN"T GOOD?... if you are going to read my past threads please get it RIGHT!!!

I feel that one should see when the results will be available. For example, if you take CS before september 8, the results will be out by Nov 4, that means, if you have interview in last week of November and onwards, your results will be available.

Furthermore, if you are among the people who would like to accept prematch, it is better to have all the paperwork ready by your interview day, not that it is necessary. If they like you, they will wait for ur results.

Try to get ECFMG cet as soon as possible. GL
