How thoroughly are you all going thru biochem, and how do you make it stick? Is it really necessary to know every enzyme and pathway or to just know the rate limiting enzymes and major products? If anyone could give me a tip on how to go through this stuff I would greatly appreciate it. Im going thru RR Biochem and its a great book- but i just dont know how to focus my studying. Thanks.

I didnt take the exam yet but finished biochem yesterday...plzz get Kaplan...its great...short...gives everything soo step by step that when you read it once...in the second read as you start making the connections u feel like I photocopied and pinned the general metabolism review chart in kaplan and the summary of pathway chart in FA on my wall during the study and kept lookin at it like maybe 1 hr every day... first read hurts a bit but reading without giving breaks helps to get the whole concept ...I mean u dont forget wut glycolisis is when u come to fatty acid oxidation...just cover all once without trying to memorize ...very quickly in 3 days...get the idea ...then its a great fun to do the second read with Qs... be sure u cover the vitamins very well b4 starting pathways... hope it helps
