Guys, heard a few things about this book. So wanted to know the esteemed opinion of those people on this forum who are using/have used /planning to use this book, about its strengths and how does it compare vis-a-vis Kaplan Medicine notes? Also, what is the sort of forma that has been used in the book, I mean Flow Charts/Tables/Theory Paragraphs?

Well, i have step up to medicine and i found it to be an excellent source; however, i think it takes a lot of time to go through it because it is more detailed than Kaplan notes. i am using it when i am not satisfied with something in Kaplan, but again if you have the time it is an excellent source. nod

to give yo an example as the way the book is written i will put something from the diagnosis of Hyperprolactinemia: DIAGNOSIS:

1.-Elevated serum prolactin levels.

2.-Order pregnancy test and TSH level because both pregnancy and primary hypothyroidism are on the differential diagnosis for hyperprolactinemia.

3.-CT scan or MRI to identify any mass lesion.

Other features of the book are tables and treatment and diagnostic algorithms.

I used it for step 1 and loved it.
Step 2 I have it but somehow, i find it disconnecting at times. But no book is complete.
Also, the book I have is heavily marked by other student and I never liked those multicolor markers. So I am not using it now.

I have it..don't use it all too much because i don't like the format. I use it mainly as reference as it's more detailed than Kaplan.

I do like the "Quick hits" it has on the side..
