Hello all Egyptian USMLERS,

I need your sincere advice....

I am single , 28 y , Egyptian.

I have just finished my residency in university hospital (Tropical Medicine & Gastroenterology).

I have got Master Degree (M Sc) in Tropical & Gastro.

I have passed USMLE 1 (82) & 2 CK (77).

I was denied CS Visa 3 times (214b) (no evidence of strong ties in home country).

What I have to do now?

Some people advised me to go to the gulf countries, they may give me high salary . They advised me to apply for US visa from there.

Is it true? What are these countries ?How much they may pay me?

Please help ASAP. I am confused.

I wish you all the best in USMLE Challenge.

it`s because u r singlegrin..may be if u r married,this would be a strong evidence of home countrey tiesgrin...
this is usmle;a risky road...no one can guarantee anything.
Apply again and again....if u applied for CS,try to apply again but this time for tourism..i`m not sure if this works.
If u talk ab other options rather than US,yes there are UAE and New Zealand at least.both countries consider step-1 and CK.

GL

wat PGY1 is
new medicationgringrin

  #1807

grin

PGY, short for post-graduate year.. residents in their first year of residency are PGY-1.. then PGY-2.. etc

  #1808

Research shows that each medical residency applicant is considered for a residency interview and ranked based on the following criteria:

1. USMLE board scores (Step 2 > Step 1) and number of attempts,

2. Up to one academic year (36 weeks) of pre-residency U.S. “HANDS-ON” clinical experience,

3. Medical school graduation date of less than 5 years,

4. 3 to 5 recent U.S. letters of recommendation from licensed U.S. physicians typically dated 12 month or less,

5. U.S. visa status; U.S. citizenship and permanent residency are preferred,

6. ECFMG Certification,

7. A passing score on USMLE Step 3, if taken, and for the Match…

8. The interview experience itself.

What about this kind of websites? Are they trustful?

http://www.americlerkships.com

Mezo.... They offer liability insurance even for graduates, I think thats why you said earlier that a friend of yours has gotten USCE after graduation... What was the website he has used???? fmgportal????

  #1810

americlerkships and fmgportal make me feel we're living a pink life in a pink world driving pink cars dressing pink clothes and attending pink medical schools gringringringringrin

like they guarantee you a spot, and you chose between a 3 months plan and 6 monthsgringringrin I have been working my a** until I have finally found one month in Virginia, of course nobody asks me about the details because I'm applying to itgringrin

Is this real? what those people are saying?

  #1811

Look Mr. PinK Panther grin ,

All of them provide u with Hands-on experience but in a private practice in the Doctor's private clinic not in a hospital .. this is the trick .. My friend did that with FMG portal, i don't know about anything else .. he told me the rate wasn't high and actually the Dr. used him in helping him in his research .. it is just 1000$ paid to get him just to mention that he had Hand-on experience, but he didn't like it .. there were days that no body comes to the clinic ... and max / day was 2-3 patients ..

and my friends who got matched last year, actually put the observerships they did on their CVs as Hand-on experience ... i don't have more details about that now, but they said the program directors are not aware of all the observerships and Externships provided across the country, so they believe what u put on ur CV

and BTY, Externships are available, but competetive and requires that u r certified

Also, take care coz there are fraud and fake Agencies among them, i read once over digitaldoc blog that FMG America just charge u then disppear, when u call back u find a different people answering u ... this was fraud ... so, if u gonna try something, ask for people who tried it 1st
