icehell wrote:how long it takes from ECFMG to varify my eligability and send me schedule and ID after i send my pap ers? First off, you will get your scheduling permit and USMLE ID before the verification process of your credentials is complete. You will even take the exam if its not complete yet but your score will not be released unless ECFMG verifies your medical education credentials with your medical school. And you should check with your medical school if they receive a verification request from ECFMG concerning you because it is normal for them to ignore it or get lost, this happened with a friend of mine. You will get the scheduling permit online. It was sent by mail last year.

I took the passport because its the one written in english, you will also have to send them a copy of your passport within your application.

You apply to US hospitals that accept international students, here it is: http://services.aamc.org/eec/students/ Externships are offered for students, where clinical contact with patients is allowed, they are considered USCE. Observerships on the other hand are offered for graduates, where you can only observe, not considered USCE. 2. It doesnt matter, but there has been a trend recently to take the CS exam while in the US doing electives. 3. It depends on the particular hospital, some dont charge at all, some others have fees. You try to get some externships in order to have letters of recommendation from US physicians that greatly improve you chances in the Match...that is if ur still a student bec there is no malpractice insurance for IMGs. complex ya sadiki

to el ahly el mota7ad ...No, unless you buy a malpractice insurance..look for observerships..better than having done nothing at all to icehell...apply 6 months before the exam, the issue is all about seats available in Amideast...and apply online...look for exam requirements in ECFMG website...buy the DVDs men maktabet el gam3a..download eh bas?

no 3eb 3alek...you study the slides that are in the MCQs and there were some slides in the DVDs,, and my advice from akhook el sagheer look at slides, X-Rays and CT scans on the internet as much as you can. if you get an observership, LORs will not be quite relevant because they cant comment on your clinical skills but again better than nothing.
