Hey faddy man, wutsup! Actually i didnt say that just cuz im american they wil give it to me earlier lol, i said cuz im foreign all foreigners all arabs besides egyptians will be able to do this, i guess the 1 year imtiyaz is only required if you want to stay in egypt. I remember a few years back we were required to do 6 months then go but now, you can just leave and do imtiyaz outside, but im saying that because theres no place on the diploma that states you didnt do imtiyaz you could just apply with it since they most probably would accept it. I want to apply for the 2009 match i wont grad till jan 09. So I'll apply in july 09 to be accepted to start residency in july '10. I wanted to ask you guys do you guys have the usmle world on cd for step 1 in ain shams? I checked for it in Cairo university since we take classes there, and they don't have it, so wanted to know if you guys have it on book or cd there we only have step 2 usmle world in cairo. I appreciate the help, cuz i dont wanna go all the way down there for nothing lol. See ya

The ECFMG does not require that you stay for the "Emteyaz", all they need is your final medical diploma so it doesn't matter if it says you've done it or not.

Mildanemia is right regarding el emteyaz, they will take u without it the point is when you get the diploma but it has nothing to do with el emteyaz.
@scarc84, if u apply for residency on 2010 so thats the 2010 Match, and as u said u have to start ur application one year earlier.
Are you sure USMLEWORLD is available on a CD?!!! It can't be!! Because its basically a program u can only have access to when u log in to ur account, and u cant save neither copy/paste the questions, so it will probably be fake!! USMLEWORLD is extremely important for the exam, u do a membership in here www.usmleworld.com ,, but i'll ask for u b3d el 3eed.
I know only kaplan Qbank is available on a cd, its much easier than the actual exam but u should do it too,,, im talking about step 1 last yrs stuff.

faddy.....men of elmanar library said they have usmle world on a cd for 20 pounds
they might made an account and took the questions by screen shot or even by a good camera........otherwise it will be fake as u said!!!!!!

maoudoody is correct, the cd is composed of screenshots taken from the usmleworld site. It's nothing like the site though so even if you do get the cd you should subscribe to the online site for a more comprehensive and better format. According to the other members you can customize your own exam and time yourself, etc...
The questions on the cd are already solved and the explanation is right beneath the multiple choices, it's a good quick fix if that's what you're looking for. Don't pay more than 15 le for it, they literally copy and paste the files on to blank cds.
There's a usmleworld book but I don't think it's worth buying, the questions are not numbered nor are they divided into sections according to subject. It costs around 80 le.

yes i personally think the program was great with quite comprehensive explanations, and it lets u re-do the questions u did wrong.
when i was preparing for the exam, ppl used to say that Kaplan Qbank is the closest one to the actual exam, and based on this bullshit, i did only like 70% of the questions in usmleworld bec i thought its quite tough and a waste of time..THEN I WAS REALLY SHOCKED IN THE EXAM DAY!! USMLEWORLD is the best predictor of ur score!! you will probably do fine in the exam if you generally get half of the questions right in usmle world, with studying every single explanations!!
My overall performance in usmleworld was around 50%...kaplan Qbank 70% (with many duplicate questions)..actual step 1 score 89...if u aim for above 90's..u should really focus on usmleworld

on applying for the exam ECFMG asked me whether is internship has to be completed be4 i receive my medical diploma?
r u sure .internship is not required be4 medical diploma and i can say no
also they ask whether am required to complete a government or social service be4 receiving my medical diploma?
do they mean the army service?
or wat?

Say No, i am sure.
Gov. Social service is not the army recruitment but some countries require something like that before getting the diploma, again say No.
Ostaz Sala7 will check ur application at the end and he knows all these stuff, thats if ur not doing it online...if ur doing an online application keep us posted here.

Hey guys, i went to ain shams today and tried looking for the usmle world on cd.. couldnt find it.. I checked out the 4-5 bookshops next to each and the 1 alone behind the hospital..also didnt have it. They said they never had it aslan. Also, they only had usmle world step 2 ck which was a book for 80 pounds.. i really want that usmle world for step 1.. wish i could find it. Regarding the kaplan 2007 videos they have some them in the store, but only for anatomy neuro, behavioral science and histology..he claims he might get the rest after eid. Is almanar bookshop 1 of the bookshops which are the 4 next to each other?? Btw thanks guys thats some good news about emtiyaz not being required anyone here studying for step 1? or has everyone already finished.. Sometimes i think about taking step 2 b4 1.. but i already started studying for step 1.. and i think 1 required more time.. anyways write me back see ya!

Kaplan Lectures are avalaible everywhere ma3 kol el sha3b u will find them in Cairo Uni!!

Dude im tellling you today in ain shams he played them on the computer for me and my friend who was with me is in kaplan they are the same 2007 vids BUT he only had anatomy histo, neuro and behavioral for 2007 all others are 2004, he said maybe after eid he will get the rest...as for the usmle world step 1 2005 ill send you my email in prvt cool hopefully you can send them to me as soon as possible i appreciate it alot man thanks!
