this coruption is third world trade mark.....
and i think this forum is about USMLE not about system in egypt or in anyother country....
and there s an egyptian quote tha says ""i hate my son but i don't allow anyone offending him"" and egypt is my son  )

well,
most of this is not present in my medical school.every year there are about 150 to 180 medical students
I see that most of it not talking about corruption, it is about old traditional ways of learning,and they have some changes but in slow steps.
what is present in my school that i can see regarding corruption is recomemendation in clinical exams during clerkships.
I think this person has no ability to success to he blaming the system.
I do not know about other schools

I can't agree with you more Ra7man.
I am from a different medical school than yours. I dun have any personal connections. Still, I have a residency position in my school ( Mo'eed ) which the blog writer says it comes only if you have personal connections !!!! About 90 % of the toppers in my school have no connections.
Personal contacts are everywhere. But, if you're good enough, you'd prove yourself.
I am fully educated practically. I am satisfied with the means of education here.
I think the blogger has failed his way in Egypt. So, he claims upon the medical system and education.

I also found that this post by pray4a99 has no place here. It's suspicious too regarding the intentions athough I would go with what he said that he wanted to know our opinions only.

ill simply tell the 10 points from my personal experience
1- my class was 180
2- so number per round (or section) when we were devided for practical courses was reasonable.
3- we were taking practical stuff and as for me i was even making the dissection in the anatomy lab.
4-i didn't take private tutors except for like 1 or 2 courses during the whole 6.5 years of the medical shool.
5-labs had the equipments.
6- i was buying the books that i only needed
7-practical books like that of anatomy or histology were for drawings and yes we were copying the drawings
8-Anatomy and pathology labs were good.
9-yes no MCQs thing and that makes our exams in medical school harder and needing more hard study and when i came for the MCQs in USMLE it was easier for me to study for it cuz i used for the more difficult study of "give short account on"
10-i was walking freely in library and photocoyin wtever i wanted and in any library u have to sign somethin to borrow..nothin wron with that!
by the way my dad is not even a doctor and i was ranked 2nd in my class...
of course everything is not 100% but u have to do ur best and get use from what is available...you have the time you have the books you have the internet and try to cover any defect in the college and work hard to get wt u want inspite of just complaining...
and remember that education in medical college is free....

we have some problem(coruption is a big word) but it is not that dark, that person is overing.
this is part of 3rd world countries.
a good student will suceed.

I know friends from 4 medical school two in Cairo,Tanta and Mansoura and the lower number of student is 1200

Ra7man, I said that I agree with you. You misunderstood me, man.
I supported your opinion with another testimony from a different medical school. I have no connections and still have a residency just like you.
And I admitted the importance of connections, but at the same time, anybody else can succeed without them just like me and you.

the only schools with this number is ain shams and alqaser al 3eny from 19 medical school.
this is my last post regarding this discussion, believe what you want.
by the way in my school, drs are prevented from publishing books to students.

I didnt waste much time reading what you've posted, but personally I dont see the word corruption fits the situation in Egypt.. I'd say " broke " instead 
The problem in Egypt is low incomes vs heavy population, thats all.. and yes I'm one of 1500 5th year students in my school
