akhi this cd of usmle world in what form , word document? as i have it on html and i cant take notes to copy and paste to word document please tell me if it is cabable for copy and paste becuz i got so tired from writting from screen

hey everyone... I'm a fresh grad, well to be precise, a fresh grad to be, waiting for my 6th year exam results, they're due real soon...
Planning to take step 2 CK as soon as possible...
Hope someone helps me figure out some stuff, like how much time does it really need? Are 5 months enough? considering internal medicine and surgery are pretty fresh with me, I just took my college test a month ago. what material do I really need? I got some stuff from websites, like actual notes, qbanks etc. but I need someone who had already taken the test share his experiences, material wise...

some people advice step 1 be4 2ck
but if u have already decicded go for kaplan + kaplan bank +usmle world
do them 3 times and u will be fine

haha, actually am not so proud of my scores esp. that of step1..and thats y i avoided 2 mention it in the 1st post..
however, its 84%step1...89%step2ck...and am still working on the cs visa papers..
yep, may b its not a good score, but if u didn't learn from others' mistakes; at least learn of urs...well..i did i guess..here was my studying strategy.
pharma: lippincott's
pathology: BRS
physiology: BRS
anatomy: kaplan
biochemistry&genetics:kaplan
behavioural science& stats: BRS
microbiology: made rediculously simple "recommended"
immunology:kaplan
all these books r the best and so clear and easily understood...but they r so time consuming and lack the high-yielded subjects...they don't focus on important issues. thats y u'll have 2 practice as many questions as u can.. i did q-book, NMS, &q-bank...if u got time, i'll recommend too nbme but its not essential.
if u asked me my opinion now, i'll recommend another studing strategy which is:
kaplan notes only and the DVDs r a must...those r enough 2 escape my pitfalls..& finally..QUESTIONSSS as much as u can..goodluck

Hey everyone,
I graduated from Aimshams2005 and currently doing a masters in Biomedical sc. in Florida and hoping to sit for step 1 in Feb. Isa. I dunno if its just me but I find the curriculum for step 1 faaaaar from what we had and i'm finding hard to get enough courage to take these examz. I was wondering if anyone went thru this and what did u do to overcome this?
Also if theres any egypt graduee whoz in the US and needin some support like myself let me know!

Hello egyptians  ......actually I found this post accidentally, and I'm very happy with it.
I graduated november 2005 from Alexandria University...now working in "eltakleef" in the country side and preparing to take usmle-CK in january " didn't schedule yet"
very happy to find egyptian doctors gathred in one place 
may Allah help us all to prove we are the bset

unfortunately nany u r too late , there is no places in Jan for the exam , and if this is your first exam , u will take alot of time to finish ur papers here in egypt (around a week) then send them to usa(around 3-10 days) they they will take about 2-3 weeks to accept ur papers then will send you the electronic permit to schedule for your exam after another week .
all this supposing that ur papres are all correct from the beginning without any mistakes ,
so i guess u wont be able to sit for the exam before march and u shoud hurry up

oh zizo_mb....you made me really worry 
the problem that I don't have the money available with me now....so I'm waiting for it to pay and then start the paper work.
also you say that there is no places left in January for the exam...it means that even if I hurried up I'll not be able to schedule in January any way...,
but March is too late for me.....don't know what to do

i am sorry for that but my exam is on 12/2 isA , and my eligibility period is JAN-FEB-MARCH
so i have access for the available places in these months , and the other bad news is that if u don't hurry up you wont be able to find a place even in march.

FaddyAcids , as i know elemteyaz is not a requriement at all to get a residency , and any non us clinical experience doesn't count so much in your CV , ya3ny mabtefre2sh 3andohom awy

When you complete your Bachelors degree you are issued a certificate that confirms that you have been granted a Bachelors degree in Surgery and Medicine. When you complete one year of training(emteyaz) you are issued another certificate; it's only valuable to those that want to practice Medicine in Egypt. It is of no significance to the ECFMG.
You get your Final Bachelors diploma once the University has accredited and stamped it, Ain Shams usually take about 6-9 months from your graduation date. Student affairs have more information regarding when, how and where you can get the diploma.

So if i graduate on January and i get my diploma on June i wont catch the match of the same year because u have to be ECFMG certified before the ROL deadline which is usually on late Feb!!
So keda keda ha3od el emteyaz,, right??

If you go to Ain Shams university then you will miss the match. The earliest time to get the diploma is September/October. Since ECFMG require verification of Medical Education which includes Transcripts of hours and grades and Medical Diploma and those documents can not be issued before you will not be able to apply till December which will drastically decrease your chances of matching.
The best thing to do is to spend that year doing research or some sort of USCE.
