hey fady salam whts up. I am originally from pakistan and lived in columbus ohio for my high school i am in my final year of med school in pakistan. would be going for electives and cs to the Us. I really want to go to ohio and Ny. I have a step 1 score in hand. Im confused about toefl, i did my Hschool in the US, why do i need a toefl. I took it in 2002 and scored 250 CBT. Would it count, im trying to call clev clinic. no one even picks man, im so mad at them.. Wht did u do abt mal practice and health insurance at the time of application?. I mean i am not going to buy it unless im accepted.. I would really wanna go there, and yes i did call up janet from tht company. she didnt pick up, i will ask her later. I am really confused at where to go. Wht would u advice I would consided ohio, my home town to be the best bt 1. Malpractice and health insurance before acceptance? 2.Toefl issue? Im thinking clev clinic and Yale and JH Im willing to pay as well.. about wht u said regarding community affiliated with university Do u think it would work out for a pathologist?? did u get mal practice and health insurance before u even got accepted there are millions of places bro jst make this a bit easier. OSHA and HIPPA?? Does JH charge fees to apply(sdn says so bt the website says only registr fees when accepted) for JH should i apply to the registrars or write to a professor? thanks bro waiting for ur reply soon!

maoudoody wrote: faddy wat to do next......anything else needed during application and what about the 3 weeks period i read on ecfmg they take to verify my documents.....will i still be able to catch dec? I'm not familiar sadeeky with what you have to do when applying as a graduate, but I guess you'll have to mail them your diploma instead of certification statement. They verify everything with your school to make sure the documents are correct. Mezo can help with that and you can read the instructions on ECFMG bulletin.

After you're done with the online part, yes u have to mail something that you're officialy enrolled or grauated from school. Fed Ex is always best as it could be lost through regular mail. It takes around 2-3 weeks by regular mail, 3-4 days by Fed Ex.

Where in Columbus? I've been there twice and it was pretty boring except watching the Buckeyes team LMFAO Yes you have to buy malpractice and health insurance before they can consider your application. If you email Janet at janet@academicins.com she'll reply right away. John Hopkins doesnt accept international students anymore for electives. There are plenty of places you'll have to search yourself and decide. And yes university-affiliated hospitals are good for all specialties. Not sure though if pathology clerkships are offered in the first place cause they usually offer MS-4 electives. If you have a valid TOEFL score so that would be fine yea.

hey bro, I was in pickerington ohio, I did my high school there, its a great place if you know your way around.OSU is gr8. about the malpractice i talked to another guy, he said u can get the policy and then pay for it when u get accepted wht if i am not accepted man ? for JH i was talking of research electives r u sure we are not allowed there any more? I got a toefl score but like i said 5 years ago I wanted to talk to CClinic to accept that. havent been able to talk as they didnt pick up my calls. I have emailed but they didnt reply yet! If they accept my toefl i am fit to go there. I really would like to go to OSU,U cinnicani and U toledo or Case western all in ohio..? so any chance i could get a letter from janet tht i will be covered then apply and if i am accepted i will pay wht do u think? hey im an above average student i am applying 6 months before any chances for harvard or yale?? should i apply to mayo costing 350 jst to apply i know its my choice bt ur an experience man wht is ur advice on it? and tell me about ur experince in cinnicanti? had fun? U toledo U know they are alot of free places for step 1 and toefl together but i am not sure if i should apply there or not I plan to go Aug sept OCt 09 Strange im pretty sure research electives are open at JH i hope ur talking about clinicals are off. SO wht i understand by wht u have done is that. take ur 8 requirements and send multiple letters to diffrent places for only those 3 months and wait to hear from them?? This is what I found most hospitals ask for: 1. Malpractice insurance. janet@academicins.com 2. Health insurance. https://www.imglobal.com/travelinsurance/index.cf... 3. Approval from Dean and letter of good standing. 4. Medical school transcript. 5. Proof of certain immunizations. 6. Proof of training in universal precautions (bloodborne and airborne pathogens), included in application. "faks" 7. Step 1 (required in some places ). 8. TOEFL ( ... ) I think i would atleast send my application to the no fees and no application fees places rest i can be a bit selective and send applications but still i am unsure I will make a list and post here when i am applying this is a full time job man did u take the date for cS? I am also taking the date soon! Any other companies who i can quote other than this company although i know this is the best source!!

If your planning on doing it on October 2009, you cant apply now anywhere. Also most schools dont offer more than 2 electives one month each. And yes they will get you the insurance certificate of liability and will give you one month to make the payment, but the problem is that it might take longer to get accepted. So you have to pay anyway and the fees are refundable. I'm yet to go to Cincinnati on January and February, and still waiting for the response of VCU. And I havent scheduled a date for CS so far cause my application is still in progress. I was talking about clinical electives in JH and they did tell me International students are not allowed to come anymore, neither do OSU. I know nothing about research opportunities though. Application for Mayo Clinic is done online and yes for $375. But the chances are not bad I guess as their recent policy is to attract students from Africa and Middle East. Harvard and Yale do accept international students even without USMLE scores, but its gonna be so hard to get there. They choose people with outstanding credentials (performance in school, researches and publications... etc)

Yeah... hehe "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!" When I was young I used to sing it "Sticks and bones may break my stones, but words will never hurt me!" People laughed and I didn't get why... now I do hehe
