But still considered much less than the states.

And I forgot Australia which would be a very good back up plan for someone who failed to get a spot in the US. The AMC is much easier than the USMLE, and I've heard that if you have Step 1 or both of 1 and 2, you don't have to take the first step of the AMC. True/False?

false

australia dont accept usmle steps

they only from 6 months ago announced that they will accept doctors passed all usmle steps and finished pgy1

so not for us

so u must do amc mcq to sit for amc clinical

australia is a big countries and people r living across the continent so they r short of gps but not specialists!!!!

australian gp could start from 40-50 k in internship and may reach 150k

also those with procedural skills especially as regard skin cancer r highly paid

but also things got difficult in the last years

john haward the former prime minister was a racist and he was upset to see doctors from the third world coming to australia so he increased the number of australian graduates to make it tough for imgs

for example in 2000 it was easy to find job after the amc mcq only!!!!!!

now u must at least pass the two exams

and it has become difficult now to get the supervised internship which is mandatory for general regesiteration

australia 5 years ago was accepting dr without any exams but work as a GP in shortage now they open many medical schools and floods of aust. dr after 3 years!its become more difficult day after day!nod

germany is good but you will depend on urself first 6 months then u will get paid but not well but the advantage is u can take any special u like but the language which doesnt belong to latin!sticking out tongue

france is good incase of u passed DES exam (its nt mission imp.)but u must leave france after residency and u dnt hav right to work there by the weak degree they give u!shaking head

USA you have to pass USMLE but after that u have to fight for residency(this is the difficult part not the steps!)mad

Egypt...try to be anything other than dr!shocked

Are you saying that one can easily pass the steps and the harder part is finding a residency thereafter? If that's what you mean, so I guess you're wrong! Forget about your friend who passed the "3" Steps and haven't gotten anythinggrin If he's competing for a difficult specialty with low scores, that would be a different issue then.
The point of creating an exam like the USMLE is offering people who passed a residency that mainly depends on your scores and some other criteria. So take the exam, you may not go for your specialty of choice or in an undesirable place, but you'll get something after all. And personally, I think being a Family Practitioner in the states is much better than a jobless Neurosurgeon in Egypt. I just came back very dissapointed as usual from the pediatric hospital in demerdash, I would never imagine myself stuck in such place for the rest of my life if even they will take me.

Wait till you're an intern Faddy smiling face

The best is yet to come, lol. grin

  #297

you have to know yourself well if you are compatible with that type of MCQ exam that needs quick response from you!
or you are kind of slow mind that need to think and read before you take a decision!
USMLE is like a game!
so if you need more than 6 month to prepare for it so you need 5 minutes to read each q. so you need two days to complete the blocks!nod

eh da ya sadeki el enta bet2oolo da ya sadeki? gringringrin da enta tayer ya sadekigringrin they have nothing to do with each other! sharm 3amla eh ma3akgrin

I used to think the same that I need 5 min for each question, but you should train yourself and its gonna be ok bro! grin, if its not ok..its not the end!

And there is another thing that I finally realized, you dont have to MASTER each question but most importantly, is to do fine overall! and never think ur gonna re-read the questions all over again.
