no but its just you should widen your medical knowledge as much as u can..this is what its all about.
and MOST IMPORTANTLY, STAY COOL in the exam...dont get bored...always keep your eyes on the time left...train yourself a week before to stay for 7 hours on your desk...do timed exams...which i havent done and were very important!

A few other books you might want to look into are:
HY Anatomy/Embryology, Neuroanatomy
BRS Physiology
BRS Pathophysiology
MRS Microbiology
A lot of people prefer using these books instead of kaplan. The difference between a book and another is the presentation of the knowledge, some books are in table format, some in point format and others in diagrams or mnemonics. Most books on the market have the same amount of information, what works for one doesnt necessarily work for another.

200-250 is more than enough. How many DVDs are they ?
Call maktabet el Manar, their phone number should be in this topic somewhere. Last time I checked step 2 cost 200, since the step 1 DVDs are larger in size they would probably cost a little more.

Step 1 had 16 DVDs for 350 LE.
Step 2, 10 DVDs for 200 LE.

Although I dont want you to hate me guys, especially maoudoody who was telling me about the score of 99.
My friend I was telling you about, with the problem of verifying his credenials, just got his step 1 score,, 42!!! He was studying for 10 months and did everything!!
Man, those many people you are hearing about who get 99s must have done some training abroad or attended their medical school FE BALAD MO7TARAMA!!!! fresh egyptian graduates cannot!! bec our education system is the FUKIN WORST!!
patients are bribed, tawseyat fel oral, doctors that have no idea what his colleague was talking about in the previous session, doctors that say the anterior side of the heart is formed by the LEFT ventricle....WHAT THE FUCK??!!!!!!!!!

He was doing what I just did and took even more time, another one could get a higher score!! I am REALLY pissed off mel balad dy!!
Anyway, I also want you to know that the exam does not only test your medical background but lot of other issues, your ablity to QUICKLY think and not only recall the information but to APPLY it, your intelligence, your ability to stay focusing for A LONG TIME, etc...

It definitely depends on where you graduated from!!! The proof is that AMGs take the USMLE in a month or so...they say 2 months for step 1 (bec its material should be old for them), 2 WEEKS for step 2, 2 pencils for step 3!!!!!!
Do you know anything about this guy? his school? did he do any studies abroad or not? And I am sure he is not a fresh graduate from ain-shams, cairo, etc...

the examples you told about AMG are different only in the time and effort of preparation....so IMG should give it more time and more effort to be at the same level...it's not impossible man......it can happen if you deserve it......
and this guy is from yemen, and graduated from cairo university in 1998

He said Cairo university 1998!!!! So he must has been working abroad with much experience..
After all, dont just count on posts written by unknown people which includes me of course for you..but you should evaluate everything yourself!!
