Hi,

I have been accepted for a Clinical Technician position in emergency department of a teaching hospital.

My question is, will this position be considered a USCE for my next year match or not? I will be in direct contact with patients which includes phlebotomy, dressing, electronic monitor observation and etc.

In my city, they don't offer any clinical externship or clerkship and I can't afford moving to another city just for this purpose. My scores are as follows: Step1: 84, step2: 78, CS: Passed, all first attempt. I participated in 2007 match but did not get a position.

Any suggestion will be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No, its not USCE technically. Nevertheless, you can mention it on your CV. But how much impact that will have will depend on what programs you apply to and what they are looking for...

spitmetal : I want to apply to IM. Also if IM didn't work I take anything else, like Family. But my first choice is IM.

LiveInTheFastLane: thank you for your responce.
