Old dear friends,
Count me in , please . Graduated in 1995. I am just sitting for the USMLE. Do not know when can take the exams.Like LG,i'm also juggling some things :studying, little children , job. Anyway , I need to keep going .This forum is a great motivation for me .
Huyniid, glad to see you here ,hope you will have 99 like you did in ck

  #53

Graduated: 98

Anticipated Step 1: September 2007

Difficult Subjects: Just about everything(no kidding !)

I'm getting back into the swing of things after putzing around for nearly 10 years. I so desperately want to become an MD.

I work full-time like alot of the folks in the forum so, I must utilize my time effectively.

I want to be realistic about my approach to studying but, what is an ideal study day in terms of hours expended toward studying taking into account work?

I would appreciate the forum's input......

  #54

Never knew there were so many "oldies wink " in the game !!!!

As all of us have other commitments too , let's find out a realistic way of study .

1: Resources

2: No. of readings

3: How much time will it take

4: How many hours per day we need to put in

Ofcourse there cannot be a hard and fast rule that applies to every one but we can try to draw a rough outline which can be followed by most of us with individual variations.

What do you think fellas ???

To king and Feyza: Good luck and keep it up... you both are doing great and I just love your attitude.

Feyza, for the physiology, I think if you listen to the video lectures first and then read the material, you will get the concept more clear.

The physiology guy is kind of !!!!!!... I don't know how to say this.. but he is not like Dr. Goljan, Dr Daugherty or Dr. Fischer in step 2... But he is good and you need to concentrate with him % 100 and get your brain working and thinking and boiling while you are listening to him.

GL all.

Grad Year - 1994

Med School = DMC, Karachi

Starting for Step1 and planning to get done (with Step1) late this year, with regular work hours.

I am also thinking of starting a thread where we can make groups and can study together.

Regards,

Nadeem

Hello Hotobhaga, I just read your posts, they are very inspiring. You are a great example among our old grats. For me, slow reading is very frustrating, but your experience told me the key that it is particularly important to stick to minimum data and know the concept very well. Thank you for stopping by this OLD IMG thread!
